[Video & Voice] cw: for mild gore
Why won't you work the way I want you to?
[ The video was mostly accidently, Will laying in his bed fiddling with the buttons on his phone. Will had been trying to dial numbers from home, all to no avail. He'd tried turning it off and then on again, hoping that resetting it would give him the means of calling home... Not that he had anyone to answer but still. Failing that, he was checking the contact list every 5 minutes, just in case another name was added that he might recognize, or the possibility that his own would vanish. ]
If I take you apart and you break...
[ He sighed and the video feed cuts off for a moment. It next returns a few hours later, after having accidentally, privately called a few people only to hang up quickly after having realized he was calling. As his finger lingered wearily over the connect button, having fallen into a light sleep while trying and testing his methodical and repetitive act. His finger pressed heavy with sleep and called the network, only to show the ceiling of his apartment, the uttered mumblings of his sleeptalking. ]
I wasn't... Thinking straight... I was... Upset... Angry...
[ The feed cuts off as Will's palm enveloped the device. Until a few hours later that is.
The feed seemed to be swinging, Will still holding his phone down by his side as he walked slowly into the night. Clues of his whereabouts in the City came in small sections as the camera swayed in motion with his steps. It was dark and a thick fog seemed to roll in from out of nowhere. Then the noise began. A loud and steady siren, yet Will remained calm. A dark blur moved passed the camera of his phone, steam from the breath of a large animal puffed out the nose and directly on the screen. It was anightmareish stag that dislodged the phone from Will's hand, becoming clear to those viewing as it leaned down and gave a snort from its nose.
Will swayed in his slumber where he stood, then took to walking again, just a few feet in front of the device, he was seen barefoot and dressed in only a sweat soaked t-shirt and boxers, the stag followed close to his side as other motions and shadows from the fog began to emerge. Human-like forms with their arms bound across their chests held in place with a sheath of discolored skin, yet Will continued to sleepwalk towards them. Ash started to gather around the small lens of his phones camera, distorting the view, yet just before it was covered and the screen went a static white and gray, something else from Will's deepest, darkest dreams, scooped the phone up before dropping it suddenly, knocking it hard enough to crack the screen and switch to audio only. Will's trembling, cold, voice in the near distance, speaking out softly as the sirens continued making it harder to hear. He sounded almost as if he was coming around from his slumber, confused and tired. ]
... I brought you a gift... Then thought better of it... I had no idea you were here... Abi- !!
[ Suddenly the sound of fast movement and heavy thudding. He'd fallen? Been pushed down? Something wasn't right at all. Nothing but the sounds of labored breathing and slight grimacing. Will felt out and found his phone in the thick settling ash, holding it up to his face to use as a light. The cracked screen flickering in and out of static and feed, showing a rather disheveled and confused looking Will who had no idea he was broadcasting this whole time. ]
She was just here... Where'd...
[ The screen showed Will's face as his eyes searched the blinding darkness of blackest night and ashfall. Though he was not alone. Something was lurking behind him, just over a shoulder, just at arm's length away. ]

[video]
Hide. Try not to die before we get to you.
[video]
...Maketh? Hide? Where am...
[ Looking around now, almost snowblind from the heavy falling ash. ]
[video]
[With anyone else, she would tell them to fight or at least run. With Will, she keeps her expectations low. He's proven himself difficult before. Best to contain the situation.]
[video]
Where? I can't see more than a few feet in front of me.... What, what was that?
[ Turning around in a circle, trying to see beyond the glare and darkness as something human-sized seemed to pass him by a few times. ]
[video]
Improvise!
[He has to do it now or he's going to die. There's no question.]
Listen to me. If you do not contain yourself, you will be killed. You need to protect yourself now. If you cannot do that, then get to cover immediately.

Up and at 'em, pal. You're gonna wanna get outta there. I'd say sooner rather than later.
video
I... Wanna get outta here?
[ Dazed as he spoke, walking in a trance. ]
audio
Yep. I'm thinkin' you do. This really ain't the place to stop and smell the flowers.
video
The voice had a point, whether it mean to or not, it drew Will's attention to the smell. ]
No flowers... Just carbon ... Soot? ... The snow doesn't feel cold... No, not snow, ash.
[ Coming to stand still, leaning down and tracing his fingers over the floor, watching as it smeared gray and black. ]
What the...
audio
Nope. Not snow. I'd say you're in a creature-infested fog-town right about now.
[However the hell he managed to end up there is anybody's guess. Maybe he just wandered on in, pretty as ya please. Either way, Sans really don't wanna blip himself in there if he can avoid it. It ain't his job to rescue folk. He does a sorry enough job of keepin' an eyesocket on the kids he promised to watch over.]

Will! Look out behind you!
video
[ Tilting his head before turning around. Yet the image of the monster had vanished. It was toying with its victim before taking him. Playing with its food like a brat of a child.
He recognized the voice, though he wasn't looking at the screen so didn't notice it was actually Jill. ]
Abigail?
video
You can't stay there. It's dangerous. Can you get out of the mist? Get back to your apartment?
[Jill is already prepared to go looking for him if she has to.]
video
[ Letting his phone dangle at his side in a limp grip. Creatures moving around curious of Will in the fog. His presence was known to them but perhaps because he was so still and calm? That or they were just fucking with him, or maybe they didn't hurt fellow monsters? That's what some people would call Will after all. ]
I'm coming! Stay where you are!
[ Running now, blindly in the fog, thinking he's the one doing the rescuing. ]
video - can go to action if you want!
[Jill pockets her phone and starts to gather some gear. She takes a crossbow and a bag of bolts, slinging it over her shoulder. She also carries her sidearm, of course, but with no bullets to replenish it, she tries not to fire those shots unless it's absolutely necessary. Her combat knife is also slipped into her belt and she's out the door, hurrying for the zone she has been trying to avoid since she got here. Feels like she's running headlong into yet another nightmare.]

video;
Where are you. [ He gruffly demands as he straps on his sword. ] If I get to you before that thing behind you does, you owe me a mug of whatever it is that's got you so drunk.
video;
[ Will turned around, looking behind him but nothing was there, just a shadow that passed quickly when he moved. Will rubbed at his sleepy eyes and grumbled. ]
There're a few problems with that... I don't know where I am... And all I've had to drink is two fingers of whiskey... I'm not drunk.
[ The white of the ash was almost blinding. Squinting as he looked at the screen. Will didn't recognize the man but then again, he hardly recognized himself anymore. ]
video;
[ He snorted in disbelief. ]
Give me a look around then. Show the surroundings. Should be easy enough to find you, then.
video;
Nothing but sheer white fog surrounded him. The odd image dotted about here and there of things curious about Will, but for the most part had stayed back... For now. ]
Not a lot out here. Think that's a building... Could be an old car there...
[ His commentary was unessayed, it was more Will making a point of how lost he was. ]
video;
Being out there like that, all alone, is practically a death sentence, you realize.

[action]
After all, it's a place he's very well acquainted with. Thankfully, this time there's no monster on his shoulder, tentacles buried in his brain.
Well, no literal ones, anyway.
He makes his way through the fog until he finds Will, and appears there like a shadow approaching through it until he's by Will's side, taking him by the arm and pulling him away from danger.]
Come on.
[He grumbles it. This is the second time he's had to do this, Graham, you stupid little man.]
[action]
Turning his head, blinking as he saw Bucky before him. He had to squint to better see him in the fog. It was then, while concentrating on the man before him, that Will caught his footing and fell forwards in a limp, rag-doll motion, his arm stretching painfully from where Bucky still had hold of it. ]
no subject
He starts to look Will over for injuries.]
You shouldn't go in there. It's not safe.
no subject
Only the slight sensation of motion was noticed, as he drifted in and out of that sleep-like state he'd been in. It was actually rather reassuring, having Bucky carry him like so.
Feeling himself being lowered and set in a more comfortable position, Will grumbled, moving to help prop himself up. He could feel Bucky looking him over, moving his arms and legs as if looking for something. Sure, Will was wounded, pretty badly actually.
Bloodshot eyes and little scratches on the side of his face. If he looked close enough, there was a little red, dried blood in one of his ears too, a lump at the back of his head caused by blunt trauma. You couldn't miss the purple and yellow bruise, large and fist-shaped that covered the lower part of his throat. The last of his wounds was a broken thumb and dislocated fingers all on the same hand. He'd find other bruises too, but that would require looking under his t-shirt and boxers.
It wasn't a monster that had done this to him, though, no, Will had been fighting someone somewhere else in the City... Quite recently too. ]
no subject
So he picks Will up again, gently, this time in his arms, and starts off toward the clinic at a brisk pace.]
