[And it's a testament to how close they'd gotten in Hadriel that she noticed so quickly. They shittexted and realtexted regularly, to say nothing of when she crashed with him after the demon thing. They've been through so much shit here. He'd been here longer than her. Now, of her friends from home, she's the veteran here, so to speak.

So here she is, doing her first official duty as such. Or whatever.

[ pell drags cal to the bar that night for irish coffee (which he still doesn't like but it'll forever remind him of chris) and the next day he packs two meals and some sketches for a new project and heads to the shop. it's not the most cheerful visit they've had and he's still injured from his little foray into the tunnels, but he tries his best to be distracting. he succeeds, for the most part. he teaches her to quilt their nice fabric around crappy but warm blankets to make a thick material for coats. they go through the dyes and discuss which ones he should make more of. he offers her a haircut. maybe she smiles a few times. it's enough.

she's invited over whenever she needs, he reminds her when they part. she still has to meet cal properly. he thinks they'd get along. ]
