Howdy, everyone! Um, my name is Asriel. And I couldn't help but notice... I think we have new people showing up again? So I thought... well, I had an idea!

[He scuffles around a bit, clumsily adjusting the camera, and holds up a fistful of crayons. Black, blue, yellow, red, and half of a broken purple. Truly a magnificent rainbow this kid has scrounged up.]

Maybe we could make little badges? Or nametags? Something that says "I'm new and I might need help." And maybe people who wanted to help could... I don't know, wear "guide" badges? Nobody has to, I just figured... it's kind of scary when you first come here, right? Maybe it'd make settling in easier! And you wouldn't have to worry, because I'm really great at drawing, and I've got lots of paper and tape. I can make the badges all by myself!

...Um, but maybe try not to get them wet. I don't know how to get plastic, so it's just... paper.

They are, my whole family is composed by monsters! I bet chara is happy and proud to be part of your family as I am to be part of mine! Maybe we could all meet up someday and play together, mh?

[Said by any other adult this would probably raise so many red flags... but Rydia is just Rydia and she can't see anything wrong in inviting kids around to play with her.]

It's actually pretty rare in my world as well but... I'm sure things will slowly gett better, humans mostly need time to adapt to changes. [She pauses, smiling widely] Do you want to tell me more about your world? A place where lovely monsters like you exist has to be a great place to live in.

[There's still enough sweet summer child left in Asriel that he doesn't even bat an eye about the idea of heading off on a playdate with an adult who's still largely a stranger. It'd be fun, right? He nods, opens his mouth to blurt a cheerful agreement, but the smile freezes a bit when she brings up his world.]

Um... my world might not be as nice as you think. I don't... know a lot about the surface, but where I come from, all the monsters left in the world got sealed underground, beneath this big mountain. Humans were scared that monsters might hurt them one day, so they, uh, got rid of us.

But that's... there are lots of good humans, too. And there are some really pretty spots underground, so it's not all bad!

[It's tempting, too, to blurt that the barrier is gone now, that everyone is going to be perfectly happy up on the surface, but... he's not supposed to know that, technically. As far as everyone knows, that was long after his time.]
