Much as I would have preferred not to be pulled unceremoniously from my own world, it has occurred to me that this is a rare opportunity to learn about worlds I was previously unaware of.
[In other words, this is her polite way of saying "I'm bored, entertain me".]
How many are from worlds were magic exists? How many are from worlds where the technology is highly advanced?
[She's more interested in the magic portion, really, but she is curious about people's answers regardless.]
What is the government structure like in your world?
Inquiring minds want to know. Or this one does, at least.

"I'm actually really interested in learning about your magic! On my world it's never been anything more than fiction."

[That sounds like the best way to handle a conversation with someone from a world where magic doesn't exist except in stories.]
The percentage of people who can use it varies country by country. The Kingdom of Fiore has the highest percentage of magic users, with ten percent of the population being able to use some form of magic. It manifests in childhood, usually during a moment of emotional distress, and magic is weaker in childhood than in adulthood.

"So it's pretty rare then?"
making a thoughtful sound.)
"So I guess your world doesn't have any equivalent to genetic modification, either. At least, I can't imagine people wouldn't want to modify themselves to gain that ability..."
no subject
[Genetic modification? She's heard of experiments on people, but...]
There have been mages who have learned a specific type of magic through implanting something in their bodies...but a person with no potential for magic usage will not be able to gain that ability artificially.

(Though they suppose magic probably wouldn't follow any sort of normal rules...)

"Genetic modification is pretty commonplace in my world. I find these differences interesting."
"You were also interested in governments?"
