Much as I would have preferred not to be pulled unceremoniously from my own world, it has occurred to me that this is a rare opportunity to learn about worlds I was previously unaware of.
[In other words, this is her polite way of saying "I'm bored, entertain me".]
How many are from worlds were magic exists? How many are from worlds where the technology is highly advanced?
[She's more interested in the magic portion, really, but she is curious about people's answers regardless.]
What is the government structure like in your world?
Inquiring minds want to know. Or this one does, at least.

[It's been a while since he talked about Urulat. Hadriel had become more and more of his home over the past seven months.]
All of those guesses put together. I knew a Sorceress who ruled by virtue of being the strongest magic user there was in the West. My mother ruled her race, the Were, by being the strongest, oldest, and wisest of her kind. It varies.

[Though she's not happy about winding up in a strange place, she can at least say that the discussions she's having with people are interesting. And perhaps she would have died if she did not wind up here.]

[The Were and Fjel would be the first to go. He's thankful being in this place saves him from having to see their endings.]
Oh, many. There is a war amongst the gods that spread over to the mortal beings, so all are divided against one another.

[She's seen the ugliness of war first hand. Although the Cabria war is where her team made a name for themselves, she still saw a lot of pretty awful things. She's not haunted per se, not traumatized, but it's still enough for her to make her take a step back from her calm banter and adopt a more serious tone of voice.]
I am sorry to hear of it.

[They had been fighting since before Ushahin was born and would continue long after he was gone. Haomane was a fanatical god and wished to see all the other races destroyed but Man. In the end, he would see the ugly task through.]

[She's not naive enough to think that peaceful times are anything but a temporary state, even if those temporary states can last for decades.]

[Maybe the races he's so close to, the Were and the Fjel, will have the barest chance to recover what was lost to them. He can only hope, even when he tries to deny such an emotion in his heart.]
