[Marian's voice is clipped as she asks without preamble:
Who has technological expertise here? Mechanical or chemical engineering, electronics, programming, more than a rudimentary grasp of mathematics or physics?
I'm also looking for anything that can be broken down for parts. If you have anything that you're not using any more or that has broken, please let me know.

It's him again.
You feelin' a little more amenable to the idea of monsters now, lady?]

[And this is another dropped call.]

If she opens it, terrible things will happen. He never got to say goodbye to Hermann, but at least he can ensure his virus gets as much mileage as possible.]

Also anything that can be found in the shops around here are usually fair game for breaking. [Have at it, hoss.]

I have couple thought but. I thought I would also ask... what other people thought this city needed. I can't make better food options. But maybe... there's something I can do.
[voice]
[Never mind, then.]
Well, could use some help upgrading the dam. Could fix the generator to allocate energy towards whatever it is you need.

[When you've barricaded yourself in a building against the fires and unpleasantness outside, there's lots of time for thinking, that's for sure]

I'm Peter.

[There's a short pause and a bit of a sigh. Well, considering how many people in the city are crazy about their so-called magic, she might have to work with what she's got. Still, it's hard not to have a hint of sarcasm creep in as she asks:]
A few? Can you be more specific about field and area of interest? Or are we talking 'I learned how to solder in highschool electronics'?

[this suddenly feels like some sort of job interview. or at least what peter imagines one to be like, since he's never actually had one before.]
Middle school, actually. And I'm second in my physics class. I take extra math classes as electives. I build computers! I like to reverse engineer things.
[he hesitates, thinking about a talk he had with natasha. now might be the time to come to a decision.]
I made my first web-shooters myself.

In the meantime, I am simply looking to help make our time here more liveable and avoid reliance on the entities that call themselves gods.

How long have you been here?

[He'd mention Rey and the dam, but he sees she's already in contact with her. Good.]

Re: [audio]
[Clearly, Marian isn't particularly impressed with the current state of the dam. It's hard to conceal the hint of disappointment in her voice when she replies. High-tech help is hard to find.]
Given the amount of newer technology around here is close to nil, it's better than nothing. Have you seen or collected anything useful? tools, diagnostic devices, useful electronic salvage?

[Those inventions were useless.]

[She says flatly. Sigh. People around here and their "magic" and nutjob ideas. Next thing he's going to tell her he's an alchemist or something equally stupid. Nipping this in the bud, she opts to ask instead:]
Would it be too much of a long shot to hope you had any expertise in extraction and purification of metals?
no subject
I've never tried, but... I might be able to? There's lots of things that fall under the mender umbrella, like construction and shielding. Purifying doesn't sound like too much of a stretch. If you don't mind it taking some time with no guarantee, I'd like to help.
video, i heard u wanted more quill
So, met any scary aliens yet? [said with a smirk that's rather more amused than mean-spirited]
I always need more Quill in my life
Every time I look at the network, there's... have you seen it? Some thing with its.... dead eyesockets....
good bc Marian is my favorite hot mess
[She's obviously not frightened by Sans, just a bit grossed out and glad for the chance to complain, but it's nice to see Marian has the correct opinion about something.]
