012 [Video]
[The person in the video might look familiar to some, if slightly more tired and banged up than usual. Still, despite the bruise on his forehead and the dark streaks of ash on his face and clothes his eyes are bright, indicating to anyone even slightly acquainted with him that he's about to say something ridiculous.]
Surprise, bitch, I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.
[His voice is a little weak but he delivers the line with all the sassiness it deserves, before suddenly offering a grin.]
Okay, so like maybe two people here got that reference, but I so don't care. I punched a shark, so I can make whatever meme references I want.
[That's how it works, right?}
So um... Who's still here, I guess? Or who's new? How long have I been gone, because it feels like no time and like, a long time all at once. Sort of.
[He blinks a few times, smile fading a bit, mostly because he's totally exhausted.]
I'm um... I'm Chris, by the way. Been here before and whatever so... Got the general idea. The sharks are sort of new, though. Fucking sharks, man.
[Really, what even.]

[He's from the late 1800s. There wasn't really things like tv shows or anything. Plays perhaps when he got to go to them but other than that, nothing.]
Why ruin a good thing if it works, hmm? [But to the more important question.] You went home then... for certain.
[It's weird, since he remembers this place but it feels like everything at home just happened all over again, but there's nothing new from last time. Still, he gestures vaguely at his face and the injury and all the ash.]
I mean, this is all from home, so I guess I had to have been.
It's been... a couple of months since you've been here. I think. I try not to count.
[He understands the not counting thing, even if he keeps pretty careful track himself.]
[He does keep track in a way but he tries not to think about it. He simply doesn't want to count. It's a day by day thing.] Yet it makes me curious if you would rather be there or here.
[He doesn't mind answering the question, and doesn't have any real hesitation about it now. He's kind of accepted that being here is better.]
You don't miss anyone from home enough to want to be there?
I'll go back eventually, I guess.
[So although yes, he misses people at home--he misses some people a lot--he's pretty certain he'll see them again, and there are many people here he won't.]
It's fine, just... Ask me again later, okay?
[He's not up to thinking about home at the moment, especially with feeling like he was just there and everything that happened.]
