[The person in the video might look familiar to some, if slightly more tired and banged up than usual. Still, despite the bruise on his forehead and the dark streaks of ash on his face and clothes his eyes are bright, indicating to anyone even slightly acquainted with him that he's about to say something ridiculous.]

[His voice is a little weak but he delivers the line with all the sassiness it deserves, before suddenly offering a grin.]

Okay, so like maybe two people here got that reference, but I so don't care. I punched a shark, so I can make whatever meme references I want.

So um... Who's still here, I guess? Or who's new? How long have I been gone, because it feels like no time and like, a long time all at once. Sort of.

[He blinks a few times, smile fading a bit, mostly because he's totally exhausted.]

I'm um... I'm Chris, by the way. Been here before and whatever so... Got the general idea. The sharks are sort of new, though. Fucking sharks, man.

Sure it was. [ She laughs a little, put at ease by what he says, however... unusual. ] It's still a walking shark, Chris. It's gotta be pretty bad. [ Then, quickly: ] Glad you're alright, though.

[ Ah. Hannah tilts her head slightly before answering. ]

Hmm... we had a birthday party for Em and I took over the coffee cart, so... you can take it back, if you want. [ beat ] And, um... well, we had, like... evil clones? Beth and I got killed by ours.

Well, okay, yeah, but it was just... Kind of more offensive than anything else. Like, after the kind of monsters we've dealt with here, having to fight a shark just seems kind of like an insult.

[He's joking, mostly, though the amusement in his tone fades entirely by the time Hannah's done.]

Geez, I'm sorry. That's... Not fun.

[Dying sucks, even when you come back.]

Okay, but, for the record? Still scary.

[ And still sharks!! ]

Yeah. [ Comes the quiet response. ] I don't remember much of it, honestly. Guess that's for the best.

[ Who wants to remember a horrible death, right?? ]

Okay, true.

[It had been kind of scary in the moment. He's quiet a few seconds after her next comment, then nods.]

Yeah. That's good at least; I mean, it still sucks, but yeah.

[He remembers way more clearly than he wants to remember his own death here in Hadriel.]

[ There's a faintly awkward silence. ]

I don't want to... hold you up. So... I'll see you soon, okay? Back around the house...?

Yeah, definitely. I'll um, be back really soon.

[He just has to muster up the energy to walk back, which is easier said than done at the moment. But he's sure he'll be back to the house within an hour or so.]

I hope you all didn't like, rent out my room or something.

[He's really not concerned about it, just making the lame joke in an attempt to cheer up Hannah a bit.]

No way. [ She brightens a little. ] We'd never do that.

[ He's their friend, after all. So... ]
