Still, despite the bruise on his forehead and the dark streaks of ash on his face and clothes his eyes are bright, indicating to anyone even slightly acquainted with him that he's about to say something ridiculous.]

[His voice is a little weak but he delivers the line with all the sassiness it deserves, before suddenly offering a grin.]

[He blinks a few times, smile fading a bit, mostly because he's totally exhausted.]

Yeah, maybe, but he sucks. He gave us mopeds to get around the city instead of something useful, like marijuana or some fucking godly equivalent. I mean, his mopeds have toy snakes inside of them. It's fucked up.

Well, he did uh... He did say he was gonna provide transportation, though um... Mopeds aren't exactly like, the most practical for that. Even before the toy snakes.

That's what I'm here for: good ideas and god bashing. [ also included are: bad ideas, bad planning, and monsters. ]

Yeah, they're not great. And they only come in Candyland colors. [ And did you know that Mello drives one around? In stupid shutter shades? Oh, it's a thing of beauty to see. ]

[Said in the appropriately dry tone of voice, though there might be a hint of amusement underneath.]

It's not like you're easy to take seriously, anyway. It's the thick glasses, I think. [ Nah, she takes him plenty seriously and she's plenty glad to see his return. ]

Hey, if you'd ever seen me with contacts you'd know I'm taking the better of two options here. I look like a boyband reject without the glasses.

[And that's even harder to take seriously than a nerd. But he does get the feeling she's actually pleased he's back and it's a nice thing to feel welcomed.]

It sounds like you should take them off, then, join up with Mello in his shutter shades, and start a band. [ Because Mello kind of loses his whole 'cool, badass, leather' vibe the moment he puts those silly glasses on (and she likes it for some stupid reason). ]

There is no way that could go okay.

Also I wish I could like, say I'm surprised about Mello wearing stunner shades, but somehow I'm not.

[Also he's filing all this information away mentally for future use.]
