[Some might recognize the cat - the stray cat that seemed to hate Anakin before - behind said Sith. So what if the fuzzy creature is batting a ball between his paws and being downright charming? So what?]

My talents are going to waste. I'm accepting students, but if you don't show any talent with the Force, I will drop you.

[He wants his own army because why the hell not?]

Ben, you're my first student. [No matter what a certain once-Padawan says! ~~Yes, he is that childish.~~] Don't be late tonight.

He doesn't argue with me nearly as much as you do. [Oh there will be vegetables. He isn't a bad cook. ~~Just quietly imagine him cooking for Luke and Leia. Yeah.~~]

I'm surprised, considering how stubborn both of you can be.

[He appreciates Anakin being willing to do the chores, he just won't come outright and say it.]

[He shrugs.] Maybe we cancel each other out?

Perhaps.

[He and Brendol certainly hadn't canceled each other out but then again, Anakin and Kylo seemed to care for each other. Hux, on the other hand, was only angry when his father died because he hadn't been able to kill the old man himself.]

But he does seem less...insufferable here, overall.

He is my grandson. [So there is some sort of innate understanding there. Anakin has been looking forward to being a father - unlike Brendol.] Don't get mooshy on me, General!

I'm not getting mooshy, I'm just stating a fact. I haven't been tempted to shoot him as often here.

[It helps that Kylo's feet are warm at night.]

Now you're talking about marriage? [Okay, okay, he has to tease. It's in his rulebook as "Grandfather".]

Where did you get marriage from?

[Anakin no! Are you trying to kill him?]

We're not getting married, if that's what you're asking.

I'm teasing you. [This poor kid.] Has no one ever teased you?

Not really. It would be unprofessional for my subordinates to do so and Kylo usually isn't the type to tease like that.

[And given he lives on a star destroyer, he doesn't interact with anyone else.]

You've missed out. I'll have to catch you up! [Man, he will have a busy day! Shopping, cooking, teasing...] Even Obi-Wan and I -

[His lighter demeanor disappears and his expression tightens, clearly pained and angry.]

Never mind.

[Hux knows better than to pry about anything concerning Obi-Wan. Back to a better topic.]

I'm sure you can make up for lost time then.

[Nanabot had never teased him as a kid but hey, nanabot tried her best.]

I'm not going to treat you with kid gloves, anyway. [So it's all inevitable.] Can you keep Eclipse company while I'm out?

I'll be downstairs in a moment to keep him company, we'll nap on the couch.

He'll like that. [Anakin nudges a ball with his foot, watching the young cat darting after it excitedly.] I'll let him out when I get back.

[ugh that is so cute, Hux can't deny that]

I'm on my way downstairs now.

[Eclipse is a sweet little boy, but very opinionated. Right now, he likes Anakin. Later, that might change.

Instead of answering, Anakin waits for Hux to come downstairs. He nudges the ball to the end of the stairs and Eclipse pounces on it, purring proudly.]

[Hux comes downstairs with a blanket wrapped around his shoulders. Normally he wouldn't let anyone see him in such a state but Anakin and Kylo had already seen him sick, there was no use pretending.]

Oh he has a cat toy now.

[He keeps from laughing outright, at least, but look at the terrifying General under his blanket! Eclipse is a good distraction from his look of utter amusement, however, as he scampers up to Hux to rub against his legs.]

He has three.

[Hux gave Anakin a flat look as if daring him to laugh at his current state. But the look was ruined as he started coughing before kneeling down for Eclipse.]

You're spoiling him. [but his tone is almost affectionate, just barely. He's fond of Eclipse, alright. He gathered the cat into his arms]

[Oh no, he will keep quiet. But that doesn't stop him from smirking.]

Get warm for your nap and Eclipse will keep an eye on you.

[The cat is purring up a storm in Hux's arms, lounging like a very furry baby.]

Alright. We'll be fine, let me know if you need any help shopping.

[Hux was already yawning though as he went to settle on the couch, letting Eclipse rest on his chest.]

I won't be asking you. [Another blanket is draped over Hux, tucking itself around Eclipse too. The cat yawns widely and blinks sleepily up at Hux.

Anakin dons his cloak and leaves, shutting the door behind him with a click. He does a decent job of finding soup ingredients; he even remembers some of Hux's favorite fruit. The poor General needs a pick-me-up. He returns with the bags and sets them in the kitchen.]

[Hux peered up at Anakin covering him with another blanket, surprised by the gesture. But he was too sleepy to ask questions and when Eclipse settled against his arm, he let himself drift off.

He only woke up when he heard Anakin come in again, he thought he had just closed his eyes for a moment but Anakin was unpacking bags.]

Are you back already? [His voice was hoarse but he didn't try to sit up. Eclipse was fast asleep and he didn't have the energy or will to move.]

[Well didn't they make a cute sight. Anakin doesn't have the heart to wake them when he comes back, but when he hears Hux's voice, he realizes the General is sicker than he thought. Sighing, he brings Hux some juice - complete with a straw so he doesn't have to sit up to get a sip or two.]

Drink. [He holds the glass and smiles at Eclipse's little grey body.] Your fever's up.

[He touches Hux's forehead with the back of his hand, frowning.]

I'll check with the clinic.
