[There's something distinctly different about Fear when he turns the video on this time. He seems even less human than normal, not breathing, not blinking, as if he's forgotten how to manipulate his form so that it actually appears lifelike.

He manages to move his mouth as he speaks, but the motion doesn't quite sync up with the words echoed in through the mic.]

...so I've finally failed.

[His eyes are unfocused, but he looks downward, contemplative.]

I only got half the city out. It won't be enough- we can't start over, not without Hope. So it ends here, I suppose.

[He takes in his first breath since beginning the recording, letting it out in a long sigh.]

"Finally" failed? You are a failure, this is a new low but it's hardly out of the ordinary for you.

[Rage is practically spitting lighting she's so angry, finally living up to her name instead of the laughing bored demeanor she usually portrays.]

If I'd fought by your side, you'd never have been revived. Hope would be dead. Everyone would be gone.

[He knows that Rage probably won't listen to reason, not when she's like this, but it bears saying even so.

If anything, they're the safe ones. They have more time than we do.

If you'd held the line we'd have had a fighting chance! So what, you bought us a little bit more time only to cut us down later on with even less of a chance to make it back out again? In what universe is that the better plan?

They don't have Hope there with them! They might be closer to the four of us but that doesn't make the others in less danger!

We wouldn't have won. Do you think that every other Rage, every other Delight and Fear and Sorrow- do you think that they rolled over and let it happen?

Everyone else held their lines and everyone else is dead.

[He shakes his head.]

It doesn't matter now. We're- [A sigh, and he looks back toward her, defeated.] -if you want to die cursing me, then be my guest.

I'M not a COWARD like you. I don't run, I fight.

Then fight.

[Simply.]

I'll join you this time, if you'd have me.

[Rage actually laughs again at that. It's not a pleasant sound.]

Why should I believe you won't run and abandon me to die again?

Well firstly, I don't exactly have the energy to.

[If there's ever a time for dark humor, this is probably it.]

I get that you're his friend out of some sense of pity for him or whatever but you don't have to keep defending him!

HE'S THE ONLY REASON ANY OF US ARE HERE. HE'S THE REASON HOPE SURVIVED.

He let us die in the first place!

[She manages a wry little smile.]

[For a moment, Delight looks immeasurably sad, before she tilts her chin up with a weak smile, trying to force some levity into her tone, despite the grim subject matter.]

I... I don't wanna die again, you know?

[For a moment, for just a moment, Rage actually looks afraid before it resolves back into a grim determination.

She'll rip this planet apart herself before she lets them kill Delight a second time.]

You won't. I'm not going to let that happen. Not again.

[She looks surprised for a split second, before a little affectionate smile tugs at the corner of her mouth and she nods with a renewed enthusiasm, eager to meet Rage's intensity.]

Well, I won't let anything happen to you either! I'm pretty tough when I need to be, you know.

[THAT gets a smile from Rage, quiet and affectionate]

Yeah. The toughest I know.

Well, that means a lot coming from you!
