[There's something distinctly different about Fear when he turns the video on this time. He seems even less human than normal, not breathing, not blinking, as if he's forgotten how to manipulate his form so that it actually appears lifelike.

He manages to move his mouth as he speaks, but the motion doesn't quite sync up with the words echoed in through the mic.]

...so I've finally failed.

[His eyes are unfocused, but he looks downward, contemplative.]

I only got half the city out. It won't be enough- we can't start over, not without Hope. So it ends here, I suppose.

[He takes in his first breath since beginning the recording, letting it out in a long sigh.]

But they do have weaknesses. If you want our help, kindly share what you know of their weaknesses. Why do they consider you anathema? Because you feed on emotions or some other reason?

With enough force, they can be killed. They can be fooled as well - we've hidden from them for this long, thanks to Confusion, Tranquility, and Fear. Killing them all would likely be impossible. Peace is impossible as well. We not only feed on emotions, but we inspire emotions. They... dislike that.

So, they dislike anything pertaining to emotion period, then? Is that why they would kill all of us? Because we are beings who feel emotions?

How much force does it take to kill them?

They dislike feeling emotion. All of you are at risk, because your emotions give us power.

I am not a warrior - I cannot fight, so I cannot answer your question well. However, I believe it's more a matter of strength in numbers rather than individual strength. Likely some of you, together or alone depending on strength, would be able to kill one of them.

Understood. I realize you don't trust us, but there is a relevant human expression: "the enemy of my enemy is my ally".

I am not in the area where I be in a position to fight them right now, but assuming everyone survives the current predicament, I would be willing to discuss a contract for killing them later. How many of them are there and what do they look like?

While the offer is appreciated, I have no intention of sending any of you to fight them if I can help it. It is simply too dangerous. We are far more powerful than you, and they were able to kill almost all of us, due to cleverness and strength in numbers.

What abilities do they have? If things are as dire as you're describing, there may be a time when you gods will have to call on us to join in the fighting. Especially those in most immediate danger on your side of town.

We may not be as powerful as you, Hope, but we are resourceful. We're also powered by our own emotions, to some extent. People can surpass their normal limitations in life or death situations, to defend their lives and those of their closest family and friends.

They are adaptable. When they discover your weaknesses, they will build and change in order to exploit them. If one of them learns something, all of them will quickly know it. Physically, they aren't terribly strong individually, but there are far more of them than there are us - or you. They don't mind sacrificing a few to reach their goals.

Build and change? Do you mean to say they can change their forms, or are you referring to their technology?

How quickly are they able to share that information with one another? Seconds? Minutes? And is it shared through something like telepathy, or through something like this network?

Their technology, though they may also be adaptable. I am not a fighter, and did not fight any of them myself. They use a network similar to ours, I believe, though not magical. At least, not the way ours is.

At least it is not an instantaneous adaptation, then. In the event that any of us must fight them, killing them before they can transmit information to the others would be imperative.

As far as I know, any transmission is instantaneous. They are always in contact with each other.

How annoyingly efficient of them. Is their network directly connected to their bodies in some way?

I don't know. I'm not very familiar with their internal functions.
