I have an extremely important question. One I've been asking since arriving a year ago. [ Ah. It has been a year, hasn't it? Though she doesn't seem to want to stick on that confession for too long, no. ] But now I figured it was time to make it official! As we all know, the gods have taken on quite... attractive human appearances. They're not interested in us, of course, so it feels a bit unfair to be graced by such hotness and not be able to do anything about it. Yet! I know I can't be the only one that's wondered. Fantasized. Nor can I be the only one with a preference.

[At her question, though, he tips his hat further into view; it's a gorgeous blue up top with a yellow underside, gems and small strings littering it's curved top. He's very fond.]

I am totally a wizard. That's the whole point of the hat! No better opportunity to have one.

What kind of magic can you do?

All sorts of stuff. Though I'm really good at transmutation and junk.

[He's also pretty good at fire, for some reason. He's not so much good at fire as much as fire Just Keeps Happening To Him.]

I'm armed with, uh, all sorts of magical shit.

Transmutation? Like... turning one thing into another thing?

[ That's pretty cool, actually. ]

Yeah. Makin' anything into anything else. But I've got all sorts of other things, elemental spells, some classics like magic missile... y'know, wizard stuff.

[He thinks it's pretty cool, too, and he looks damn proud of it all things considered.]

I can do some ice stuff, myself. But my magic's, uh. It's different from the wizards of my world can do.

[ He has every right to be. Rose knows that magic-wielding isn't easy. Feldspar had taught her that much.

She ignores the pang of homesickness in her heart at the thought of her friend. How long has it been since she'd seen him last? Three years now? Thereabouts. ]

[Now he's just pushing for information, because it's been a while since he's gotten to talk wizard-shop with anybody. Even if she's not technically a wizard and all that.]

I have a couple of ice spells too. They can be fun if you're, uh, into that sorta thing.

Mine is what's called ki. It is me. In a way. The other magic is stuff channeled from a different place. I'unno where, but it doesn't come from within like mine does.

[ There's definitely a smile at his comment. ]

I'm actually impervious to cold, so. Unfortunately doesn't do much for me.

[Okay, but that's totally fascinating, and it probably shows on his face as he listens to her speak. Ki sounds like a monk thing, but to be totally fair, he doesn't know almost anything about monks. Taako's not the type to divulge information about himself, but he's wrapped up in the conversation and since it's relevant at the time, giving a little something will be worth it.]

That's cool, though, that's cool. I picked up all my stuff from books and stuff. Y'know, just learned magic. There are people around that are just born with it or whatever though. Not that I know any of 'em.

[Sorcerers are fucky. Warlocks are like, double-fucky, because that one involves a demon contract and he's not about that level of fucky. And then there's like bards and shit and who honestly knows what they're doing, 'cause Taako doesn't.]

And see, you get like, immunity and shit. I have to come up with that stuff on the fly.

It's kind of the same in my world. There are creatures like me - born and made of ki, our own 'magic' - and then the people that teach themselves. Some have more talent for it than others, but... Anyone can learn, if they know how to get the knowledge. If they know it even exists.

[ The next part makes her laugh softly though. ]

Yeah, my friend Feldspar could use wards or whatever, but. He was always jealous of me having a natural immunity.

See that's what I'm saying! You get freebies for it. Like, I get shit for being an elf, but it's like, I get to see in the dark. That's entry-level shit. Not being able to freeze to death would be waaaaay better.

[That's a relatable feel, Feldspar, even if Taako has never met you. He gets it.]

But eeh, there's probably stuff you don't like about it too. That's usually how these things work.
