redux - [text]
I was free of this place all too briefly. It is interesting that the Door chose me again, out of so many other living creatures in the cosmos...
But then again, even lightning may strike twice.
[OR MAYBE SOMETHING ELSE IS GOING ON. Even through text, you can feel the animosity.]
When I was last in the city, a great wall had split the populace in two. It seems that is no longer the case. What happened, and how long has it been since then?

Read this: Hadrielhistory.txt.

This has been kept updated. Impressive.
Is there more information on the 'inorganics'?
[text]
[So that would be a no.]
[text]
The split did not last long? Weeks, or days?
[text]
[But it felt like longer, honestly.]
[text]
And how was the celebration afterwards received? [IT SOUNDS DUMB AND FUN AND LIKE SOMETHING MEWTWO WOULD HATE. BECAUSE HE HATES FUN.]

what happened: fear put the city back together
how long has it been: about a month?
[text]
It was a significantly shorter period of time from my perspective. Two days, or perhaps three.
[Pause. That's...weird. Right?]
You are not one of those who have escaped and returned, are you?
text
[In short: it's not weird, bro.]
no. i've been here for over a goddamn year, ugh
text
You are one of the longest remaining residents, then? Do you know any who have been here longer?
text
you could ask yourself and start keeping track or something?

Where can I contact your friend?

Thank you.
[...actually, there are a couple of things he's curious about.]
Why have glowing pebbles been put into the ceiling?
[text]
[text]
Are there other [um] improvements from within the last month? I flew over the city, but it is difficult to tell one building from another.
[text]
[Yes, that whole ordeal is still on his mind--and likely always will be. He'll do whatever he can to keep the operation running in his dear friend's absence, as if she could somehow see his efforts and be pleased by them.]
[text]
I see. I will be certain to do so.
I am told that I also missed a "party". [Probably for the best. He would've just grumped through all of it. But he is interested in hearing more about what it entailed.]
[text]
That was actually rather enjoyable, though. After we assisted the gods in fighting off some strange force that has apparently been hunting them, they expressed their gratitude by treating us to a week of events, none of their usual suffering or torment involved. It culminated in what the humans here called a "masquerade", in which all survivors were able to spend time together celebrating.
It was a good change of pace, honestly.

you went home?
text
Napstablook? Is that you? [It's weird to.....know someone's name, and be....maybe sort of hoping it's them? They had not spoken much, but he'd appreciated the conversation they did have. Plus, how can you forget a name like that.]
Yes. I was released from this place...but I was home only for a few days. It seems more time has passed here.
