[Napstablook doesn't touch the network really, and this is the first time they've gone out of their way to address the whole network. They clearly look a little nervous. Maybe even a little more nervous than usual, considering the weird things they've been seeing out of the corner of their eyes.]

um... hi, this is napstablook...

[The former ghost-turned-human is sitting on the floor of their room, with a box of meowing somethings right next to them. Upon closer inspection, there's a bunch of hideous-looking cats, with all teeth for faces. In the box, there's one oddball that's staring directly into the video feed for an uncomfortably long amount of time.]

i hope i'm not bothering anyone but
i found these outside and they seemed kind of hungry... at least i think they are...
can anyone tell me what they eat...?

[They kind of uh, smuggled them into their house. Unfortunately if they were trying to be discreet about it, the network post and gurgling meows from the kittens aren't really keeping it secret.]

They're carnivorous, so you'll want to give them meat. I am certain that those shops have plenty cans of stuff they can eat.

I mean... it's gotta be fingers, right? My vote is fingers. Or just, you know, a good entire horse. They could just swallow it whole.

[Okay. There is a moment when she sees the toothed cats(?) where her breath stops and her mind is flash-hit by a chill.

Some of the feeling's still there when she starts recording her response. But she'll try to keep any sign of it off her face, at least.

A flat, dry repeat:]

[She is not exactly a cat expert, but if anything ends up sounding like a red flag or reassurance, it'll be what it is.]

Well. This disgusting thing. The camera pans to it momentarily before he turns it back to himself. ]

If you’re taking care of them, here’s another one.

[ The creature’s less obviously mutated than the ones shown on screen, but he’s certain the smell makes up for it. ]

Are those just, uh...gonna be in the house forever now?

i think a horse might be too big...?

[Also they don't want to feed any large-sized animals to these tiny creatures.]

You'd be surprised what some unknowable creatures can jam down their throats.

I realize that might have sounded wrong out of context, and I vote to strike my comment from the record.

Anyway.

Are you really keeping them as pets? Is that... okay?? I mean, I know what cats eat, but I don't know that that's a cat. It looks more like an Old God.

[Nervous attempt at smile? Because they didn't ask and they should've and this is really awkward...]

i was just uh, thinking maybe i could take care of them for a while...? i don't think they have anywhere to go...

[Napstablook doesn't sound very sure themselves. They barely know how to take care of the kittens they already have.]

[Without missing a beat:] Well, I guess now we got the room for 'em.

[With Undyne's departure, that eases things up somewhat. This is the most interest they've expressed in something other than Mettaton, whatever their relation to the former star of the Underground, in some time, and he might be a right pain in the coccyx, but he ain't completely heartless. Metaphorically, anyway.]

What manner of creatures are these? They seem more monster than anything else. [ Okay, they're like 90% cat and 10% monster, but holy shit that 10%. ]

They look to be carnivorous. If they are feline, they may enjoy fish. [Not that he would know anything about being feline. Obviously. At all.]

They were outside of your house? Or somewhere else?

they seem like monster cats...? [Being a monster themselves, these little cats don't seem too out of the ordinary] i don't recognize them from home, but they don't seem to do much other than bite a little...

That is an apt description. [ She frowns. ] A creature that small is unlikely to be dangerous, but you should remain on guard. In the meantime, some form of meat or fish would be the obvious choice for food.

[Their relief is visible, even a little happier.]

oh... well i was thinking about naming one medley? and allegro for another...

[Clearly Napstablook hasn't been putting much thought into taking care of them.]

[He ain't much for music. Not like he's got anything against it personally, just never had an ossicle for that sorta thing. The only musical terms he's familiar with are the ones that're good for exchanges of wordplay.]

How many are there, anyway?

[One of the kittens makes a gurgling sound that kind of sounds like a meow. It's kind of cute. Also a little disturbing.]

[Cute little toothy kittens, of course! And that one cat that just seems to never stop staring right into the camera.]

i don't think it's souls... otherwise mine would probably already be eaten...
you can't really eat a soul either i don't think... just absorb one, which kind of sounds like eating one i guess, haha...

I mean, I guess that's a good point. The soul point. [Kinda unsure about that whole absorbing thing, but that's probably fine...? Their soul hadn't been absorbed, so. Yeah. It's fine.] But they're not, like...normal cats. I don't know if they would eat cat food, you know?

yeah, it's music stuff... a medley is an assortment of musical pieces played one after the other
allergo means a musical part is supposed to be played in a really quick, lively way...

[One of them got out? One of them got out. Sans immediately starts to scan the surrounding area with his sockets at half-mast - hiding the nervous charge that thrills at his fingertips. Probably no big, right? Probably.

Hmmm. Well, I mean, if it really is just like a normal cat, just... weird, then. First of all, you want to make sure to stop touching and petting for a while after it bites your fingers. Teach it that biting means it doesn't get what it wants, and it'll stop biting after learning the pattern. And the best thing to give a cat to eat is meat or fish. You'd also be surprised at how much some cats like vegetables, and those are good for them too. But the best staple for them is protein. Don't give them extra stuff with the meat like rice or other carbs, that's good for humans but not for cats.

there were five just a little a few minutes ago...?

oh no... oh no i hope they don't get hurt...

[Because that's the real problem here. Napstablook starts to get up to search around the room for a missing kitten, and the remaining kittens start to get rambunctious in their box. It'd be almost cute, except for the horrible sounds they make as they tackle each other and scratch at the box.]

[Napstablook's seen cans with pictures of fish on them. They hope that'll be enough for five hungry kittens?]

i found them in a box outside... it seemed too dangerous to leave them...

[And - pahh, she realizes that (he? she? they) might not have even meant the one that bit, with that wording, her head rolls into one "hmmh, me" shake on one side and then a slighter one to the other, locks her eyes back up to the screen...] Do you mean the one that bit you? -- Or one of the others? [With a look up and over said others, if they're still on-camera!]

Any kind should be fine, though they might appreciate some fish.

There are some fish in the pond at the center of the city. I will look for some for you. [(he's not sure if ghosts know how to fish.)]

I see. Perhaps they were left there on purpose? [People...do that sometimes, with, you know, normal animals/Pokemon. Although just leaving a living creature out in the cold in a box is pretty terrible. Humans suck.]
