That storm was a hell of a thing. [She had gotten used to no weather. Heaven didn't have weather. Neither did the cave. That was the norm.]

Did any buildings go down? [She's checked on the clinic since the storm abated, but even she can't get everywhere in a day or two.]

Hell, what about people? Is everyone okay? [She knows she was stubborn and tried to go out in almost the worst of it. She hopes anyone else didn't do that.

Then she realizes it's been a while since she made a network post.]

Uh, my name is Jo. I've been here a while. If anyone new needs anything, I'll try to help.

What about yourself, Jo? Did you get through the storm alright? No close calls?

Probably a few bruises. [Jo laughs. Hail is painful.]

You okay? Have enough food?

[ Pell looks tired on the feed, but not sick or hurt so that's a good thing. He doesn't offer her a smile like he usually would, though. His voice is flat and kind of businesslike. ]

Has anyone answered that they need help?

No, not yet. [Jo doesn't like this version of Pell at all. She looks a little worried.]

Are you okay?

I'm fine -- hid out during the storm and I'm at the clinic now but maybe some people are trapped and can't get here. Maybe we should ride around and see what the damage is for ourselves?

That's why I posted this. Maybe they could let us know where they are.

Do you want to come along?

[pellameno]

[ Pell doesn't mention that they could probably have called for help themselves if they were able -- he'll be trying to sense people that are bad off enough they couldn't use their phones. He nods to Jo, reaching for his medical bag with his free hand. ]

Where should I meet you?

[Jo knows they could have called, but this might be...less embarrassing or something. Whatever.]

Where do you live? I'll come by.

Do you think its over for good?

[Voice]

The storm? Probably. [There's a rustling of fabric as Jo shrugs.]

Things don't last too long here most of the time.

I thought the storm was kind of nice, honestly. [ Sure, the wind whipped viciously and most places she crashed in during it leaked, but it's been so long since she got to enjoy rain of any kind. ] I kind of forgot how much I enjoyed the rain.

I liked it at first. [She'll admit that much. It was nice, to feel rain on her skin again. Almost reminded her of the spring showers back home.]

Are you okay?

I'm fine. If anything, I feel better after the storm. [ a pause and then: ] I just closed my eyes and... pretended I was somewhere else.

And it worked? [Jo would have tried if she had thought of it, but the rain kept bringing her back to reality.]

For a little, yeah. I closed my eyes and just stood there. Wet grass, mud. It's the closest thing to home I've seen in a long time. I didn't even mind it when it got worse.

Better than the other shit they could throw at us, too.

I bet that was nice. [Sometimes, when she's drifting off she can almost imagine she's home, sleeping at The Roadhouse. She always wakes up sad.]

Yeah, a storm is better than some things.

Are storms like this common?

It hasn't rained since I've been here. Nine or ten months. [So, she doesn't think they're common.]

That doesn't sound good. But, then, if every one is like this...maybe it's better.

Maybe. Hope provides enough water for everyone, usually. We don't seem to need the rain.

That's good.

Although I have to admit that sometimes, it's nice...I spent 19 years without ever seeing rain, and now, sometimes, just feeling it is kind of nice.
