As it seems this place has stripped me of my students, I have decided I ought to find another one, perhaps two.

That is interesting, and I wonder why that is. Maybe it depends on the caster's belief in the glyph more than the glyph itself?
[Because if the glyphs themselves have magic that words while in a completely different world and when drawn by people also not from Carlisle's world, then it couldn't depend on something environmental, right?]

It's just usually important to find a balance between asking questions and not annoying the person who might be teaching you.
[He's used to doing the latter; people tend to find him annoying.]
