[Like the last few posts that have occurred, this is also clearly in regards to the Null's latest announcement; however, Lance is trying a different tactic, because he's doing his best to avoid getting kicked out of seeing their list. So he's wording this very carefully, and that's purposefully obvious in his tone; it's also probably pretty obvious in how intent his stare is, and in how he's casually fiddling with his FBI badge in view of the screen.
He's really hoping the Null aren't too good with subtle body language, and that the people here aren't as generally bad at it as he's concerned they are.]
In light of recent occurrences, I'd like to remind everyone that I'm a psychologist, and I have an office in the clinic should anyone wish to speak confidentially. Additionally, although I prefer to work with individuals, group meetings are also possible.
[Aka the Clinic is available for anyone who wants to have private conversations about all of this going on, and Lance will be lurking there himself both to participate and keep watch on things.]
[[ooc: Feel free to jump right to action threads, to do multi-person threads, threadjack on the network or in person, etc!]]

Re: Action
[Will couldn't exactly speak to overconfidence and extremes since every demigod he knew was trained to do just that--but at the same time to minimize casualties. The monsters were after you, not the barista at Starbucks.]
Someone is going to take the Null up on their offer. Whether they believe the gods are better off dead or if they think they're doing it for the greater good...someone will. And then we're really in trouble.
[Lance was right. Someone was going to do something bad.]
Action
It's possible. But for now, what we can do is focus on trying to protect as many people as possible and making it difficult for anyone who'd like to assist the Null. Whether or not someone succeeds eventually, the less the better.
[As much as he'd like to say they could prevent anyone at all from being killed--and it's always possible they will--he's also going to be realistic.]
Re: Action
[Who would be stupid enough to kill the god providing food and keeping monsters at bay? He only hoped it someone did try, there would be enough people against him that they wouldn't succeed. Will was really getting sick of all the death and plotting. This wasn't any better than back home. Just more of the same.]
Action
[Because from what he's heard, nothing else than anyone has tried so far has had any real effect on the gods.]
Re: Action
There's too many people here. There's only one Hope. If we can at least guard his temple and try and make sure no one who doesnt need to goes in there, that's at least something.
There are too many moving parts. Maybe I'm just a bit biased. The talk of spies isn't my favorite.
Action
[So the idea of putting all or even most of their efforts into protecting him and calling it a lost cause to try to prevent people from being murdered is not one that Lance is willing to support. He isn't against protecting Hope, by any means, but not at the expense of others.
He can tell there's probably a story there by Will's last comment, but decides not to address it this time; Lance isn't fond the subject either, considering he was likely murdered because of people playing spy and conspirator for their own benefit, and isn't mentally prepared to pretend it doesn't affect him in order to talk about it further.
So instead, he continues on the subject of Hope--]
I'm not saying don't protect him, but we shouldn't consider it a forgone conclusion that people are going to be murdered.
Re: Action
[And you know, the giant target on his back.]
I'm usually pretty optimistic, but I think it's easier to protect one person--or god, than a whole bunch. I guess, we just do things differently. No harm in it.
Action
So instead he takes a deep breath, reminds himself that it's necessary to choose his battles, and manages to at least offer a shrug in response.]
Ultimately, what's important is that we're trying to do what's right.
[And as long as their views of what's right don't differ to the point of being willing to cause others harm, then it isn't worth arguing about.]
