not Margaery. she's not going to let the Null run her life and she has sewing shop duties to attend to.

this time, there's no fumbling with the phone, no going out of focus, Marg has successfully conquered her phone. and the sewing shop is dust-free and bolts of fabric can be seen in the distance]

Who all is on the Guard? I'm afraid that I know little about them. I do know where the clinic is, though.

[Margaery has just been trying to go about her days like normal and mostly succeeding]

I've met two or three, on accident. Most of them seem to be the forthright and honorable types.

[sniff. He's a pirate, he can't endorse that sort of behavior. But the information should be useful to Marg, especially as he chatters while waiting.]

That will be a nice change, after the corruption of the Gold Cloaks.

[Marg returns bearing a paper wrapped package. inside is his flag. it's fairly large and sewed to what she approximates would be the right size for sailing on a ship]

[ooh! He tears open just part of the paper, enough down the middle to see the emblem for himself, and Marg gets to see him completely unguarded for a moment. He brushes a hand over the smile, transported for a second or two.]

[Margaery watches his reaction. evidentially, she did something right. she's pleased to just watch him look at it]

[she's getting an idea from his reaction]

[yes, he looks in need of a new shirt]

I have, I suppose. What with working here, chasing after children, and those dreams.

Ah...yeah. The dreams. It wasn't until I talked with other people that I even realized it wasn't just a dream, that others experienced the same thing.

Yes, it did. And she was very kind. [laughs] It was a breath of fresh air after dealing with Hope and Rage. Neither of them seemed terribly competent.

[she will be happy to provide one]

Yes. It was so strange. It truly felt that what I was dealing with was real.

[he clutches his flag to his chest, turning a bit awkward again]

I'm sorry you had to see any of what you did, from my mind. Well. Except maybe the bit with my crewmates.

[that one's a little more fuzzy, given time and distance and the less visceral feeling of his usual nightmares, but he knows she was there]

Your crew was charming and the town were were in was lovely. [she pauses a moment] I just wish I could have been more help against Doflamingo.

[a slow shake of his head]

It doesn't matter. The nightmare recurred several times that night, I couldn't escape it no matter who was there or what was done. [except once, but. Shh.] That's the nature of dreams. I suppose it was only doing what it did because of my own thoughts.

Yeah. [and in that answer is every reason to be afraid of what might happen if he shows up here, through the unbiased Door] My worst enemy. I regret that you were treated to a crash course in what my life is really like.

All I regret is that I wasn't able to do more. If he does find his way here, he'll be dealt with.

Don't. Stopping him takes superhuman feats of stupidity and bravery. But...

[well, since she brought it up] ...at the rate we're going I'd rather deal with the Null.

I wouldn't. I'd rather not have to deal with any of it.

In an ideal world...right. We wouldn't have to deal with either. But this place is far from ideal.

Did you learn anything else interesting, in your sleep?

Well, we know that the Null are a real threat. One we'll likely have to face if people keep trying to kill other residents. I dislike the gods and the way that they play with our minds, but the Null seem even worse.

I went to a few parties in worlds similar to Westeros and got to know a few people better.

[how terrible will it be to soon learn exactly how close their speculations are to the truth]

Parties. Sounds like you had a much better sleep than I did.

At least you'll be able to do something about it, either in the Clinic or the field. I'm just [presses her lips together for a moment] another helpless damsel to protect.

[take those speculations and times them by about 100. that's what she's assuming will happen]

It was, I suppose. Perhaps next time, the gods will make me do or feel something awful?

[he's not the kind of guy to protest the truth. It seems to be the drawback of trying to live a quiet civilian life in the murdercave]

At least, there are plenty of us who aren't going to kill each other, and would rather protect. Stay close to those who've got your back.

[and she's been witness and party to some of the worst things people are capable of to get or keep power and was murdered along with a hundred innocents by her own mother-in-law. she's now making a habit of assuming the worst]

For better or worse. [with a faint touch of a smirk] I have no intention of letting those bastards claim a victory in any sense - no one will die if I can help it.

Indeed. [smirks back] And you can do a lot to make sure it doesn't happen.
