Video 3 - Margaery's Apartment
[The video opens not in the Sewing Shop but in Margaery's apartment where she's sitting in the middle of her bed, a pillow clasped in her arms. she's looking down from the camera and she's in a bathrobe and nightgown, both wrinkled. her hair is disheveled and her eyes are heavily rimmed with red, as though she's spent a long time crying. which she has been. a whole day and night and a new day of crying.
she tries to look up at the camera, clear her throat and speak, but the words don't come. fresh tears well in her eyes and she looks down again, biting her lower lip.
a long moment passes with nothing but Margaery fighting back tears and silent. finally, she looks back up at the camera and speaks]
I--I thought people may want to know that Matt Murdock is no longer among us. His. His help was invaluable in the time before the Null invasion and [her voice breaks] he will be missed greatly.
[she brushes a tear off of her cheek, looking down again. she forces herself to look back up and continues]
I need to apologize to those I promised garments to. I. It will be at least another month before they're finished. I'm--I'm sorry.

I'm guessing he was a smart man? It must mean you shouldn't judge yourself for those sins either. He wouldn't want you to.
private video
He's a lawyer. From what I've been told, that makes him very smart. And you're right, I shouldn't. It's just hard sometimes.
private video
[And her own victims too,though that's even harder to talk about.]
private video
[she had to countenance much during her long engagement to Joffrey. worse, she had to pretend to like his more perverse urges]
Re: private video
What was the red wedding?
private video
[Margaery takes a deep breath and seems to be steeling herself]
The Red Wedding was. . . Westeros was at war. The War of the Five Kings. One of those kings was Robb Stark, the King in the North. He was never defeated on the battlefield, so my grandfather-in-law had to come up with--with another plan of doing away with him.
So he went to one of Robb Stark's bannermen, Roose Bolton, and offered him the North in exchange for betraying Robb. He took the offer.
Robb's uncle was to wed a daughter of Walder Frey, one of Robb's mother's bannermen. Walder Frey offered Robb, his mother, and Robb's bannermen bread and salt, as is custom to establish guest right. A guest is never to be harmed, you see. It's an old Westerosi custom, dating back to the First Men. They must have felt themselves to be safe.
Walder Frey waited until the wedding of Robb's uncle to one of Walder's daughters had taken place. Once that was done and the wedding feast commenced, Walder Frey had his men break guest right. They slaughtered Robb Stark, his queen, his mother, and the entirety of his army. Cut off Robb Stark's head and sewed the head of his wolf in its place.
And it was my grandfather-in-law who planned it all.

[Abigail closes her eyes for a moment at the end of the story. It's so different from her past, she never witnessed any mass killings, having been brought to Hadriel before the 'red dinner' at Hannibal's home. The part about the wolf's head is familiar though. It sounds to her, almost as if it could have been Hannibal's style of 'art'. She's not sure what to say, so she simply opens her eyes again and says
I'm sorry.
private video
[the Red Wedding holds a tricky place in Margaery's mind. it's true that it did stop the war for the most part. it's true that House Tyrell benefited from it. it's also true that it was a horror and she had to try and comfort Sansa Stark, Robb's sister, in the aftermath of it]
It was a dishonorable way to defeat Robb Stark, but the Lannisters never cared about honor.
Re: private video
[Abigail thinks back to all her father's values.]
My dad thought he was honouring his victims, because of what he did with their bodies. He was very sick.
private video
[she hesitates a moment]
What did he do with their bodies. [she hastens to reassure] You don't have to tell me if it's too painful.
private video
[She pauses and when she speaks her voice is barely above a whisper.]
He was a cannibal.
private video
[she has to take a moment to be sure that she heard correctly]
A cannibal? As in, he. . . ate their flesh?
[even in Westeros, that's a big no-no]
private video
[Abigail fidgets for a moment, making the decision not to mention that he fed them to her and her mother as well.]
He ate their organs. The bones he used for plumbing putty. He used every part of them.
[Except for one girl whose body he put back in her bed after realizing her organs were 'tainted' because of an illness she had]
private video
[her voice is nothing but pure sincerity]

I wish you were here, so I could embrace you.

private video
Indeed! We've both had a--a difficult day.

I feel kind of the same way about Hannibal being gone sometimes.
private video
Hannibal is someone you love?

[It's hard to explain Hannibal. She's not sure she wants to, in case he comes back - she doesn't want him known as a killer.]
Kinder than I deserved.
