I've been stuck in my rooms for three days. I don't have words for how incredibly bored I am. I may well go mad.

So! In the interests of getting to know some of you better, let's chat. I have a question to start things off. What is one thing you wish people could know about you without you having to tell them?

For example, I wish I didn't have to explain that I am royalty. It's a bit awkward, and sounds like bragging, when really it's just the fact of who I was born to. So I'd choose that - or the fact that I prefer red wines to white. Then no one would ever have to worry about serving me the wrong thing. Actually, that one might be even more convenient.

What about you? At least some of you must be just as bored as me.

I think my husband might frown a bit if I announced we were having granola bars for dinner, but they're good to have around I guess. It's either that or really learn to cook.

[At the moment Seel can make pasta. That's pretty much the end of his culinary skills.]

I miss that, too. Nearly every day. Not that it isn't an adventure to fend for myself, but after so many weeks of it, the thrill wears off.

[He laughs, mostly at himself for being so helpless.]

Maybe there's someone here who could teach us to cook.

[Rhy had a much better attitude than Seel did. Seel never considered it an adventure. He hated the idea. He had a feeling Rhy and Swift would have a lot in common.]

That amuses you? I admit I was on my own briefly before Swift got here...

I did have someone try and teach me how. I don't think it's for me.

[AKA he doesn't want too and is still wishing servants will magically appear. Or someone else will give in and cook for him.

I've been on my own since arriving. I think I'm getting used to it.

[For a certain meaning of that phrase, anyway. He's surviving. It's a little nice to not be constantly under scrutiny, as well.]

Swift is your friend? I hope they can cook, then. You shouldn't have to if you don't like it.

[Well, if the world was fair, that would be the case, anyway.]

Swift is.....I think the closest word translate to king or ruler. I'm his consort. I guarantee you he can't cook.

[But he probably will be the one to learn.]

Swift might enjoy it actually.

[Probably not but it's significantly better than listening to Seel whine.]

And your getting used to living alone? Ever eat cat food?

Ah, I see. So he must be in the same position as us - used to having servants provide. Well, we'll make it through these hardships somehow.

[He laughs - Rhy seems to be facing it all with good humor, as he usually does.]

Cat food? No. At least, I don't believe so.

Yes. I don't think he's ever had to cook before. Life without servants is something we'll have to get used too. You do seem to be in fine spirits!

With any luck I wont be relegated to cat food again.

I didn't have anything else to eat after I once lost my......he took care of the house.

[That sounded so much better than my lover walked out on me because I'm a pompous asshole who made him cook and clean for me and only occasionally was nice to him or slept with him. Right?]

I try to stay in a good mood. There's not much use moping, after all. It won't make things better.

[Though Rhy has been known to get sulky from time to time when things don't go his way, that's mostly with close friends and family. He learned from a young age to have a pleasant outward attitude.]

I'm sorry you went through that. Things are better now, though, I hope?

[That was an excellent attitude Rhy. You could teach Seel a thing or two about it. Maybe it would rub off.]

That's an awfully enlightened attitude. Does nothing get to you?

Yes, things are better. At least, my position and servants are secure. As for 'better', now I just have more to lose. Is it better when you have more at stake?

Some things do. Plenty of things, really. But so far not too much here.

[Not yet, anyway. It's only a matter of time.]

I suppose whether it's better or not is up to you. I would say it is - I'd prefer to have something rather than nothing, I'd prefer to have people I care for around me. But others might feel differently.
