I've been stuck in my rooms for three days. I don't have words for how incredibly bored I am. I may well go mad.

So! In the interests of getting to know some of you better, let's chat. I have a question to start things off. What is one thing you wish people could know about you without you having to tell them?

For example, I wish I didn't have to explain that I am royalty. It's a bit awkward, and sounds like bragging, when really it's just the fact of who I was born to. So I'd choose that - or the fact that I prefer red wines to white. Then no one would ever have to worry about serving me the wrong thing. Actually, that one might be even more convenient.

What about you? At least some of you must be just as bored as me.

I know I'd rather vote for someone I liked than someone who's a dick.
Not that people vote for princes.
That's probably like, a family thing, I'm guessing.
But people are less likely to revolt or whatever.
And I'm glad I'm not boring you, at least.

You're correct about that. I'm the prince because I'm the son of the king, not because I was voted for. That sounds barbaric.

You're not boring at all. Actually, quite strangely fascinating. I've never met someone with your interests before.

I don't know about barbaric.
In theory it means we get to choose who makes the rules,
instead of taking our chances that we'd get an asshole king.
But in practice, people are stupid, and they vote for whoever lies better.
Or they vote for someone just because they don't like something about the other person,
even if the one they picked is worse.
Or for dumb loyalty reasons.
It's a mess.
I'm sure there's ways to fix it, but whatever, I'm not into politics.

But uh, thanks I guess? For calling me not boring.

A mess indeed. If everyone gets a say, then so do people who do not have the country's best interests at heart, as well as those who simply don't care or don't know. I'm surprised it works at all.

Do people often call you boring?

I mean it works... sometimes.

And, well, not exactly.
People don't normally call me anything, which I guess just makes me think I must be.

I'll have to take your word for it. It sounds like chaos to me.

And I don't think you should assume the worst. Perhaps people simply don't often get the chance to know you better.

You sure are optimistic about people.
But hey, I need the pickup lately, I'll take it.

I find it makes being around people much more pleasant. Not that everyone's a good person, but most are, even if they sometimes have odd ways of showing it.
