audio.

Man. Man. You guys are just, ahahah, just a riot. The guy tied to his bed, the guy trapped in his room, that one weird couple having a blow-out — like, hello, you know we can all see that, right? [ he gives a sigh-chuckle. ] Ahh, bandits.

Aaaanyway, just wanted to check in with everyone, say hi, introduce myself. It's Handsome Jack — yes, the Handsome is legally part of my name, yes, you can just call me Jack, though I will also respond to "sir" and occasionally, "daddy". Some of you have already met me: I'd do shout outs but I've mostlyyy, uh, forgotten all your names? Sorry, kids. Thanks for helping me kill those ugly titty monsters. There's always a job for you at Hyperion.

One last thing, promise I'll make it quick. Space travel. If you know shit about building something that can leave atmo, see me after class. If you know anything about what galaxy and sector we're in, raise your hand. If you're riding out in the desert on one'a these divine spirit quests and you think "boy, that old hunk of scrap looks like it could be useful in constructing a rocket!"? Gimme a call. There could be something in it for you.

Okay kids, that's all for now. Remember to check bloodflow to your partner's bound hands every hour so they don't lose 'em. Jack out.

Maybe they just need to be taught, and I know the perfect professor.

[He's not talking about himself, just... that he's totally talking about himself.]

This is going to be a pain in the ass. And not like the good kind of pain, either. [Bringing ships down was way easier than taking them up; even he knew that after how many crashes now? Fingers tapped against his armor, before he sighed.] If Simmons was here...

[He'd be a better help than the rest of them. Well, almost; Caboose was proving to be a savant with the building stuff lately.]

Something like that. ["Colorful space marines" that might be heroes, but also had their asses in more trouble than it was worth. He didn't mean to be cagey, but dammit, they were supposed to be retired.] I have some friends from back home here with me. They might be able to help.

[Dude had a point, one Tucker couldn't argue; it was going to take a lot of people building shit from the ground up, and getting out of here was priority number one. And yet, still, past dictated to trust no one.

Fucker's stuck in here just like us. Poor sucker.]

Carolina and Wash. [Caboose? Tucker wasn't giving him over, more for this guy's sanity rather than the larger point of trying to keep Caboose safe; the last thing they needed was him to team kill the one person who was making any progress around here. And Epsilon...that was another story in and of itself. Too complicated right now.] Um, they're a little bit jumpy so I'd be careful around them. Some of them are more shoot first, ask questions later.

[That was putting it lightly.]

Where are you from, anyway? [Because Tucker had been around the block a few times, and not in the fun way, so maybe he heard of it. Maybe he knew what he was dealing with.]

No problem. This was probably the easiest thing I've done all day.

[Until the Freelancers found out he was giving their names to folks; then it was going to be a mess and a half, something that would probably end in laps until his legs fell off. Too bad. If it got them out of here, that's all that mattered.

Tucker wracked his brain to see if the name made something spark, but ultimately...]

Nope. Let me guess, not that pretty? [Because most of them out at the sides weren't.]

Okay, let me throw this at you: ever hear of Chorus? [That had been big shit news, how they had just stopped a tiny little thing like planetary genocide. They might be a bit of a big deal now.] I mean, it's kinda hard not to hear about it at the moment.
