Ancient beings are usually....well trouble is a good word for it, you're right. They always have their own agenda. And someone is always going to get caught in the crossfire. No matter how careful you are, someone is going to get hurt. That's usually the nature of war.

If this gets that bad.

I think we need more information between we can even figure out what this is.

Yeah that's the thing, gods and gods-adjacent? They don't give a shit about us unless we're useful. And we have no way of knowing what this new one could possibly want.

But yeah, you're right, we don't know for sure what it is. Murderbot could be lying. Or dumb. Problem is, I doubt the gods here are gonna be all that forthcoming, assuming they even know anything. So the only way to find out more might be to go down there and wake it up.

That Null might not even be able to tell the difference between these gods and other types of gods, or different species. We just don't know.

I just wish there was a way to get more information about it without waking it up.

Usually, where I'm from, waking things up, particularly old powerful things? It ends badly. Really badly.

Like get a nosebleed, end the world, badly.

Yeah, same thing's true of my world. Most ancient powerful things are either demons, angry gods, or liches. And not the fun kind like we got here in Hadriel. It's generally considered really fuckin' stupid to even want to poke those bears.

Maybe the people tryin' to get the shit out of the ocean will have better luck, and we can tell what's what once that's all in the open.

And you know when you're able to call the gods we have here 'fun' that it's some crazy stuff back home. No, it's generally a bad idea to poke things best left asleep.

I just hope that those looking in the ocean don't piss it off. Or if it wakes up, it's on the right side of the bed.
