[For those who frequent the tops of the various climbable buildings in Hadriel, they might recognize that this broadcast is from the roof of one of them due to the angle; otherwise it's just a rapidly darkening cloudy sky for a backdrop, sun setting and rain clearly threatening to roll in at any time.

It's pretty, and that may or may not be the reason why Connor is out on a roof in the first place, but it's definitely not the point of this impromptu broadcast. He's just been wondering some things, and it's in his nature to actively search out answers rather than waiting for them to come to him, so he's decided to just go for it.]

Hello everyone; my name is Connor, and I just arrived a few days ago.

[Always good to start with introductions, and also to avoid saying exactly how many days or hours it's been since a given time when pretending to be human. He's getting a little better at this.]

I've been catching up on the situation at hand, and although the context is somewhat different, there are parallels to current events in my world that are difficult to ignore. Before I arrived, we were dealing with what might be the beginning of a civil war between humans and machines.

[He's trying to tread carefully, projecting enough genuine interest without sounding over-invested. He's just asking, after all, nothing more; there's definitely no personal reason why he wants to know.]

So I'm curious; I'm aware that what the Null have done is enough reason to be against them, but does what they are play any role in your feelings toward them?

After seeing the conflict in my world and how it formed, as well as where it might be going, I was interested to find out what may or may not be playing a role in what's happening here.

[Which is all true, if not the whole story.]

「There was a lot of anime with weird things but word hopping and some cloud-gods included... not so much.」

If it mattered, many of the people fighting the Null would have been ostracized a long time ago.

「Is that too vague? Let's see.」

[That last comment earns a small tilt of his head, his eyebrows furrowing slightly.]

What do you mean?

[He has a guess, but he'd rather let Atem explain.]

「Atem takes a little moment before replying, how to say it without hurting his not-so-human-friends?」

You cannot expect every universe to be the same, there are so many advanced worlds out there I never had even dreamed about before I came here, the Door doesn't care about boundaries at all. What I mean is that... Some of the people that has been brought here, their... physiology might be more akin to the Null than your average human.

[That's actually a very tactful way of putting it, and also confirms where he'd thought this was going.]

I've met a few of them so far. They've been very welcoming.

[He means it, and that's probably clear in his tone; he likes Oscar and Nick quite a bit so far, and Maeve as well, although since she's hiding what she is he isn't including her in his comment.]

However, approving of some individuals doesn't necessarily mean a lack of animosity for others. In my world, if it's beneficial to them humans are still willing to work with machines despite the conflict, and despite often holding contempt for machines as a whole.

[So he can't help but wonder how much of that is in effect here, and how much the tolerance for mechanical-based beings depends on them being useful to the humans.]

「That's all.」

[The only thing he wants to say in response to that is pretty flippant, so instead he just defaults to the standard android reaction of staring impassively. It probably gets across the sentiment of 'I know' well enough anyway.]

「Sorry dude... just a couple of seconds of that silence make Atem give a slight amused snort.」

So, Connor, right? You cannot expect things to be the same here. That's all I'm saying. Did you get your answer?

I don't expect them to be the same, but I don't assume they're different either.

[Especially since he only asked the question after seeing several conversations that indicate that there's reason to be suspicious.]
