[The whole Fear event was massively tiring for Komaeda. Both physically and mentally. He decides to shut himself house for a few days, trying to recover his health. Nobody needs to know. They've got other things to worry about more than him. Besides, if they discover how truly worried he was, it could end very badly.

Even so, he has to check on the people who called him their friend and make sure they are okay. That they are not dead or they have not actually left the city for good.]

Well, that was certainly an eventful few days. Or shall I say uneventful, depending on your opinion? Either way, it's wonderful that everyone is back! Or most of us anyway. [At least he hopes that the people who called him his friends are back.] It was certainly a massively trying ordeal. However, perhaps we can look at this in a positive light? Even if it wasn't intentional on Fear's part, one might say it was a test to see how we could work together and merge our hopes together into one and let it shine over the darkness of despair!

And in the end, our efforts did pay off. Hope did come after all! The city is back to normal. What a wonderful relief!

The others survived too. And I expect that if anybody died for this, they came back when the gods did. That's not the point.

You think it was just luck that you're okay?

The gods apparently will revive anyone, regardless. But what I mean is you didn't die during the event. That's hope in itself, isn't it?

That's always how my talent has worked so far. It's always saved me when I'm in a bind. Even in situations where others wouldn't survive.

If you want to think of it that way, sure. I think it's just that the guys I wound up with were decent people.

What are you talking about, man? You never give yourself any credit. And the people around you probably deserve some as well, right? Saying everything comes down to luck ignores that we've all got free will.

That's not quite what I was saying. Maybe I should give an example.

[He doesn't really want to talk about the number of times he's survived. That might end up in bad luck and Drake probably does not want to know anyway. But if he gave a small hint...]

Let's say the cruise ship you were on ends up in a massive storm and you fall off the ship and get washed up on a deserted island with no one around. That's pretty terrible luck, right? But then, when you're exploring the island, you discover some buried artefacts that are worth millions! Wouldn't that be the most amazing luck?

Not only that but you could have drowned in the ocean. And despite that, you're still alive. That sort of thing is possible if your talent happens to be something as boring as luck.

Okay, yeah, there's some luck involved there. Good and bad. But haven't you ever heard "pray to god but row for shore" kind of sayings? You had to keep your head above water to live. You had to explore to find the artifacts. Luck won't do any of that for you.

Well, you're right in that sense. You could will yourself to live and try to find land but you could also give up, try to drown and end up on the shore alive anyway because a massive wave appeared out of nowhere and brought you there. Or you could just do nothing and rely on your luck and then the wave comes and brings you ashore.

Also, it's true that you'd have to explore to find the treasure but even if you didn't, something else good might have happened instead. Maybe the person you rescue happens to be a beautiful young woman and you end up going out together!

Anyway, I have never been on a cruise ship so I can't attest to an experience like that.
