I can understand losing faith.

But it is strange that you have no deities whatsoever. Do you rely on myths about heroes, then?

Not really. Mankind doesn't have heroes anymore.

You come from a sad world. (She thought Westeros was bad, but at least some people still adhered to a faith and had hope.)

I think so too, sometimes. But there's a lot of good in it.

It is my opinion that you seem very kind. Perhaps you are part of the good that is in your world.

[Oh. Well, Poison isn't sure what to do with that. She's never been called 'kind' before, except by Peppercorn. There are a lot of words most people would choose first.]

(Honesty is kind. Sansa learned that lesson the hard way in King's Landing and even if the honesty hurts, so be it. But Poison hasn't hurt her in the least.)

I respect honesty; it's dangerous to live a lie or tell lies. You can expect the same belief from all the Starks. That is how we were raised.

A brother, but he prefers to go by the surname Snow instead.

Why is that?

Snow is the name bastards use in the North. I assumed he was the product of my father's infidelity as a child. I'm not sure anymore.

It sounds like you care about him anyway.

I love him as a brother. He has turned into a man you can trust.

It's good that you can have someone like that here.

I was without kin for over a year. This is a nice change.

I haven't seen my family for over four years, my friends for more than three. Though leaving my family was my choice, it would be nice.

[stonebird]

I was without family I could trust for almost seven years in my world. Then I visited another world and I was united with them briefly only for them to disappear again. Another year followed and now I am reunited with a brother again.

Family is important, but you can create your own if you are lonely.

That's easier said than it is done.

In my experience, you must take it a day at a time.

I've grown too tired of growing so close to people only to have to watch them suffer.
The place I was in before wasn't as kind as this one.

I understand. But it is worth the effort - even if you feel pain. Think of all the comfort and joy you can bring others. It's not a selfish act to love.

As pleasant as it sounds, I think I'd rather avoid the pain altogether. I've had enough of it to last several lifetimes.

I know of pain and I know of joy. I much prefer the latter even if it is brief.

But it is your choice.
