[the video opens on Jane in the same overstuffed armchair she was sitting in during her first video, only this time instead of sprawled out on it, she's sitting up, legs crossed at the knee, foot pumping in the air, and a notebook in her lap with a pen poised over it for taking notes]

So, I've gotta know what you think of the gods? Which ones are your favorites, which ones do you hate, and why? It's for research.

[Jane alleviated it by having sex with a friend. which was nice, but she's not in love with her or anything, so it was kind of like the junk food of sex. nice while it lasts, but leaves you craving something more substantial.

a bitter laugh] I'll say it's not worth the trouble. And I hadn't thought about it like that, but you've got a point. Love's private, just between you and the other person.

[Jane would've loved Dan forever if he hadn't been so intent on getting the truth out of her. but he was and he killed Jane's love for him in the process]

[Tyki's blend of ego and inability to reach out has left him entirely alone. He allowed a tiny bit of touch when drunk, but it barely scratched the surface of that need. He'll make it through, but he's not going to be a pleasant person to be around until it's over.]

I've been told it's worthwhile, if you find that person that you're meant for. So far that seems nice to think about, but more fairy tale than reality. [He sighs.] But that's my answer, I'm afraid. It's love that I'd rather not feel the effects of, here at least. That's the one to avoid.

[while Jane is all about reaching out. reaching out for a relationship, reaching out for love and attention while at the same time, keeping people at something of a distance by lying about her identity and her childhood]

That's what I've heard. But even if you do find them, it doesn't last forever. Nothing lasts forever. [she flings herself back into the chair with a dramatic sigh] With any luck, Love gorged itself on all of the warm, fuzzy feelings we had a few days ago.

[Tyki knows a good deal about lies. He keeps his human friends close, so unaware of his other lives that they think he's normal. They don't even suspect a thing back home. But there's still some complicated feelings involved. He doesn't want to give up anything. So the lies will continue, so he can live the way he wants.

His human friends wouldn't want him if they knew what he was. And Tyki wouldn't blame them for it.]

Some things are eternal. [His genetic memory, as an example.] But I honestly can't imagine feelings of romantic love falling into that category. [Tyki shakes his head at the idea of it.] Perhaps then, we'll be left unmolested for a while. I'd rather not indulge these stupid whims any longer.

[she'd get it, if anyone could. she's spent the past four years living under an assumed name, lying about her family to gain sympathy points, lying about her previous relation to lessen its significance to her. so many lies, it's hard to keep track sometimes of which lies she told to whom]

I can't, either. [a lie] The best you can hope for is good sex while it lasts. [she shrugs idly] Unmolested by Love, sure. But there are more of them.

[Tyki sighs, and looks a bit irritated at the reminder of the other 'gods'. The expression is not meant for her, of course, but just thinking about it makes him a tiny bit annoyed. This place is interesting to him. The alleged deities are not. And he'd have a lot more fun here if they weren't in the way.]

Any of them is too many. But I suppose we don't get to choose our lot here. [His expression warms up a little.] So why the research? Just curious? Or is it something more?

[don't worry, the gods make her more than a tiny bit annoyed on a regular basis. mainly because whenever the events come along, she tends to be the gods' chewtoy]

Nope, unfortunately we don't. Too bad, there are some serious changes I'd make if I was in charge. [she smiles at him] I'm trying to write a play about this place for people to be in. We need a little entertainment around here.

You and me both. [They're in good company as far as the irate at supernatural rulers club goes. There are quite a few people in the city that would change things up if they had some actual power. Unfortunately, they're not quite in the situation to do so at the moment.

Tyki perks up quite a bit at the idea of a play to go to.] Is that so? Let me know when it debuts. We really are lacking in culture and theater. Consider me a humble workhorse, if you need assistance of some kind.

[and so far as she knows, they never will be in the position to make any changes.

and she grins at his offer] I'll do that. I'm hoping to have it written within the month and then announce tryouts. If things go well, I might try to get a book of Shakespeare or the script for Rent. I'll need people on and off stage to help.

[Tyki thinks otherwise. But his ambition is only matched by his laziness unfortunately. And if he's distracted or kept occupied his schemes usually fall flat.

There's just more fun to be had in wandering about and socializing with people than messy revenge business or power plays.]

[she laughs and grins at him]

Thanks. I'll probably need it.

I'm sure you'll do fine.

[He has absolute confidence in her. And if she disappoints, he still gets a play to watch. Even it's a terrible one. So there's no losing in this.]
