I've made some relevant updates to the bestiary now that we're on a planet with local fauna.
[So here's an attachment with the updated version!]
At the moment, I've only heard tell of the mammoth things roaming around out there. All current notes are either based on secondhand accounts or pictures that have been sent to me. I'd like some real specimens to take a look at, if anyone's game.
Apparently there's other critters too, though they seem to be rare as I haven't encountered any myself. If anyone runs into anything alive on this planet, let me know and I'll add it.

Things dont bleed when they're dead. Yeah I'd still need to scrap the tissue off of the inside of the skin but I think after that it's just a matter of finding something to preserve it.
Tanning is a complicated process and I think it involves a lot of chemicals we dont have here but I bet salt would do the trick in a pinch.
Not for a very long time but Idk we could probably get a few months use out of it before it started to fall apart?
And it might be like sliiiightly stinky. But maybe not Idk I don't usually interact with just skin.

like ok so monsters do bleed or kind of like some do but some dont but
when monsters die they turn to dust
so nothing can bleed after theres no body lol

The reason humans bleed a lot when they're injured is because your heart is pumping blood. Blood pressure is what makes you bleed. It's not just seeping out.
When you're dead your heart isn't beating anymore so the blood is still like THERE it's just not getting forced out of the wound.
