I’ve been here about two months. I asked similar questions when I first arrived, and I was told the average stay is a few months. One of the residents who has been here the longest said she has been kept here for a total of around two and a half years.
[ It sounds like a long time to Maine, too. Not compared to what some other people are saying, but still. He wouldn't want to be here for four months. ]
Well. To my own recollection I have now been here for several months. However, based on several accounts, it would seem I have been here much longer than that.
wellllll long enough that i dont really have a weeks answer two and a... half years? assuming this place runs on a 12 month 24 hour system its kinda hard to say just uh a long time but most people havent been here that long
[ The thought that this place wouldn't run on a twelve month, twenty-four hour system never occurred to Maine. It's what all UNSC forces use regardless of what planet they're on. He stares at the message for a moment, perplexed, then decides to give the name of the system. ]
24 hour system: Military Standard Time. 12 month system: Military Calendar.
[ Which is a hell of a lot more than he usually says in one go, but it was odd enough to prompt a full (in his opinion) explanation. ]
[Everything about the way people count time here is strange. It's as if none of those who live outside of his house have ever heard of things like Maiden's Day or the Hour of the Bat.]
[ Maine, on the other hand, doesn't recognize Drake's name. But he does grimace slightly at yet another person being here for well over a year. Know what that's doing to the average? ]
text;
Lost count.
Least 2 years altogether, I think.
( But probably quite a bit more than that. )
text;
[ Excuse him. Up until now, the longest Maine's heard has been 'a little over a year.' Two years blows that out of the fucking water. ]
Willing?

43, tomorrow.
[ "6 weeks" is exactly how long he's been here.
