[Maketh doesn't look well, but she's putting forth a solid effort. She's got her hair up and a coat slung over her shoulder, half buttoned, to cover the mess of bandages. But her face is pale and strained. She's been injured and hasn't yet recovered.]

Hello, Hadriel. I hope you're all well, or at least -- recovering.

Recent events have made two things clear to me. First, that the gods will attempt to turn us against each other. And secondly, that they can influence our minds in ways far more direct that I had anticipated. A protocol must be created so this will not happen again.

[She takes a deep breath and winces.]

However, I don't have the proper training to make such a thing. So I am reaching out to everyone here. If you have ideas, I would like to hear them.

[Maketh looks worried for a moment, but hides it well. Mostly she just looks tired.]

A lock-down protocol at the very least. If we isolate ourselves when these events strike, we can minimize the impact. They seem to happen on a semi-regular time table.

[a pause]

Are you all right, Rey?

Mm. Fair point. Probably would've been fewer incidents if people weren't out there risking exposing themselves as potential targets.

[Not that she blames them. Even Rey left herself open to the same thing because cowering inside just isn't her style.]

Yes, am fine. [It's more like an automated response than anything else.]

I know it's not idea, but honestly, it's the best I can come up with right now.

[This sort of thing wasn't covered in the Academy.]

[Rey isn't sure how confident she is in that sort of plan, but it's better than no plan at all.]

Don't mention it. [Really, don't. Rey doesn't know how to even process gratitude at the moment.] Were you able to survive the week?

[Her tones are so detached that it's hard to tell if it's concern or curiosity when she asks this.]

More or less. I'll need time to recover before I'm able to resume patrols, though.

Can take over, if needs be. Don't have much else going on and don't need to sleep that much, anyway.

No problem. Think a lot of people could use a break after that week.

[Maketh doesn't ask if Rey happens to be one of them. It wouldn't go over well.]

[No, it really wouldn't.]

You as well. Take it easy until you're fully healed and better again. Not going to be much use to anyone if you're run ragged.

[Difficult advice to swallow, but unfortunately true at this point.]

No, I'm afraid not. Let me know if you come across any changes that should be made to the map, or things of that nature.

[Having difficulty swallowing her own advice as well, Rey can't blame her. In any case, it just seems like the thing people are supposed to say in this sort of situation.]

Will do. Though, am not sure how useful the map is going to be at this point...

[Since she's noticed something is... different.]

[Maketh huffs. She's noticed this as well.]

That may be true, but we need to try and keep on top of things.

Even if things are being constantly changed around? Do you think that it's worth it?

Of course it's worth it! [Oww, ow, her body does not appreciate enthusiasm right now. Maketh winces, taking a moment to breathe.] A pattern might still be found.

[But hey, at the same time it's good to know that at least Maketh is back to her normal self. Right?]

Even if there is one, do you really think it'll help that much?

It could. We're not in a position to ignore potential intelligence right now.

[Maketh takes a careful breath, then exhales.] I'll expect reports on whatever you find.

That was clearly an oversight on my part. Because we are.

Have some catching up to do, it would seem. Had no idea we had become that organized. Mostly just patrolled out of boredom, to be honest.

[Lack of sleep doesn't help, too.]

[....right. Out of boredom. Maketh sighs.] Of course you were.

I'm hoping we could establish a proper militia force eventually. Having written reports and updated maps is a step in the right direction.

[Well. It's something like boredom.]

Not a terrible idea. It'll be good to get the city's more experienced fighters organized. Seems like we're all over the place right now.

Unfortunately. I can't guarantee everyone will cooperate, but it's a start.

[And that thing about patrol reports? Actually something Maketh invented on the spot. Which is not something she feels like telling Rey now that she's agreed to go along with it.]
