[ The room behind her is ensconced in darkness, and only her face and neck are visible, lit only by the cold light of her phone. She's clearly apprehensive, and uncertain, filled with new doubts, and worries.   This is not a post she had ever thought she would have to make, but now, with Hope announcing the safety of the temples (safety that comes with a price, she believes), she has no real choice.  She swallows, suddenly all nerves. ]

I know it's tempting, but... [  Is there any way to say this where people will listen? ] don't use the temples, don't hide in them.  If you have to hide, then pick a building, find a room, and hunker down.  When the Darkness comes, you might have to move, but... [ She licks her lips, expression pained for a moment before she shakes her head, as if giving up on something.  ]

This is for the best.

[ ...Maybe. ]

Don't we wake up in the morning scared? [ there's a slight waver to her voice. she's getting increasingly emotional. she knows why people are scared. god, fuck, she's scared. of this place. of these people. of herself.

but what scares her the most is the gods and all the control they have. all the control they have and yet they're still stuck here. all the control they have, and they don't even get real explanations, just placation and empty promise. ] Or at least worried what the next couple of hours will bring? What god will fuck with us next? When we'll die, and just be forced back?

[ this is a response to that. this is someone fighting back. even if no one else understands. ] What will Sorrow bring us?

[Nick meets her apprehension with a calm, yet firm tone. He's not happy about what's going on, but tearing into this poor girl won't help, especially when she's clearly been pushed too far already.]

We don't know, but we'll handle it when when he gets here. The point is that you can't always fight fire with fire, especially when a lot of innocent folks are going to get caught in the middle.

[ she shakes her head, forcing a sigh out through her nose. ]

So, what would you have suggested I do? [ keep sitting on her hands, keep letting new people be brought in, keep letting them take from them. no, no, no. she's done. she just wishes everyone else was, too. ]

Talk to us. We're all stuck here. Some of us are doing what we can to change that, but it's going to take time, and we need to work together.

[Nick might be displeased overall, but the concern in his voice is genuine, and he doesn't want to escalate the situation.]

If I talked about what I could do, do you really think people would be on board? Because I don't. [ no, these powers got her labeled a demon. a monster. they tried to burn an innocent version of herself alive because of her powers. she could never see anyone wanting anything to do with them.
