[There's a skeleton on the network. He seems pretty unperturbed about his state of being, actually, and in fact looks rather cheerful, all things considered. He's got the camera lodged or propped up somewhere, because he's not carrying it. That would evidently require too much work. No, Sans has his bony hands shoved in his jacket pockets, addressing a point of space slightly to the left of his device.]

So that was pretty fun, huh? Not actually the weirdest thing that's ever happened me, believe it or not. I bet all that fog sure won't be...mist.

[He chuckles, and the lights in his eyesockets focus on the screen.]

Anyway. I've been around the block a few times, but I just figured I'd ask. Anyone seen another skeleton around? Tall, loud, likes saying "nyeh heh heh"? He's like me, but the opposite in every conceivable way.

Let me know.

Well, I'm a little different than most humans, seeing as I'm immortal and quite old. But I look pretty good for 312, yeah?

Oh, most can't. But I and a few others can. Alchemy is a very interesting thing, you know! A lot of it is nonsense, but in this case, it worked for us.

Not at all. I'm one of the lucky ones, I suppose. But for a long time, I've wondered if it makes me still human or not. I don't think I am. I've lived several lifetimes by this point, and I've come back from innumerable deaths and injuries.

[Wow. That sounds familiar. Probably not in the same way Sans is thinking, though, and he doesn't react much externally. Just smiles the same as he always does.]

That's pretty interesting. Bet you've seen some weird things, huh?

Oh, of course. Though being dragged to a city in another world filled with people from all over the universe kind of takes the cake.

[He shrugs.]

But what about you? I know all about the world of people, but not of monsters. That sounds far more interesting.

Pretty normal where I come from. There's lots of us, all underground.

[Or there was. In that particular iteration. Hard to keep track after a while.]

Not so different from here, I guess. Just less human-y.

You seem much more personable than the monsters native to this place, I must say. So that part's different. Are humans and monsters at odds in your world, too?

In a matter of speaking. They sealed us underground, there was this whole big war. But, you know. I don't really care about the whole "rivalry" thing.

[Can't afford to care, more like. Only six humans have fallen below, but that's enough to know that plenty of monsters still harbor some measure of resentment.]

Well that's good! Any way of talking the monsters here into cooperating, so that maybe we can find a way out? Or is there a language barrier situation?
