I... I require assistance. [The feed comes on and the normally calm ice alien's voice is tinted with sadness. He takes a small breath, then continues:]

I have been keeping a small number of lightbugs that appeared in the caves about three... [there's a brief pause as he struggles to remember the proper terminology used by humans for this span of time--] ... months ago. But now it appears they are dying. I don't know what I did wrong. I made sure their enclosure had plenty of space, insulated it from the cold, and even provided them with things to eat. And yet still...

[Glacius trails off. Given that his homeworld is frozen over, there aren't any insects on it, so he has no idea how their general life cycle works--or in this case, how short it can be. He doesn't even realize that he was lucky to get three months with these heartwarming little critters! His voice is therefore regretful when he speaks again, but it sounds like he's trying to scrounge for some determination because he hasn't yet realized their time is simply coming to a close.] ... I don't want to lose them. Is there anyone who knows enough about these life forms to help them?

That was what I had in mind, yes. I didn't have any place in mind, though... I've already been to your apartment, so you could come to mind. Or, if you are working, I could come to the clinic..?

I'll come over. [ She could use a change of scenery. ] Where d'you live?

... I do not want to broadcast my location over the network. [Maybe a little bit of old wariness plays into that, but mostly it's just the natural reclusiveness and secrecy the alien's culture and upbringing has imbued into him.] It is no fault of yours... I am just worried that some people might be unnerved if they learned there was a large ice alien living nearby. [He's still adjusting to the thought himself, in fact! Thankfully he has the floor to himself and the apartment is spacious enough, which helps him with his needs for space.]

Works for me. [ And thankfully, she can easily get to that. So she'll be waiting there, hands in pockets and sunglasses perched on her head. ]

[Glacius simply gives a nod and cuts the feed. He's there not all that long after the established meeting time, walking up to the site where all of this began. It's definitely enough to bring up some old memories, ones that are far from happy... but at least the circumstances of their meeting today aren't as grave as they usually are. That's something to be glad of, at least.]
