001 [Video]
[So, Ruby's been here awhile but hasn't bothered to make many comments--or any posts--on the network. But she's definitely been stalking them, and learning as much as she can about Hadriel and the people in it.
So that's why she feels confident in making this post, opening with a friendly smile and broadcasting from one of the abandoned shops.]
Hi, everyone. I've met some of you here, but for those I haven't talked to yet, I'm Ruby.
[She smooths a small segment of her hair between her fingers, looking as innocent and nonthreatening as possible.]
I'm helping out with the pickling and jamming and other food preservation efforts now that we have the new orchard, but that's not really what I wanted to talk about. Something totally different, actually.
[She pauses a moment, like she's gathering up her nerve to continue.]
I've seen that a whole lot of people here have magic, or supernatural powers, or some combination of them. I know that there's a lot of reasons why you might want to be private or secretive about them--I have been--but those of you who don't mind sharing, I thought it might be useful to what each other knows. Maybe we can even figure out ways to combine our skills.
[Mostly Ruby wants to know what other people are capable of and how she can use that to her benefit but close enough, right? RIGHT?]
Some of the magic in my world is teachable, too, so I'm willing to talk to anyone who might be interested in that. I can't guarantee anything, but the more we can all take care of ourselves the safer we'll all be.

[Also not a perfect solution, but it would definitely help.
Ruby is also finding it a bit weird and unexpected to realize that she's actually enjoying genuinely coming up with the right solution and spell to use, rather than manipulating the situation for her own gain. Sure, she's still keeping in mind what's not going to backfire on her, but it isn't the only thought on her mind and that's odd to realize.]

Speaking of prices...]
Okay, so what's the catch? I'm not naive enough to think you're gonna dig up materials and put a luck charm together for me for free.
[He doesn't consciously suspect manipulation or even particularly distrust her. She's given him no reason to. But his gut is telling him that he'll owe her for this, and he'd like to know how that's going to shake out ahead of time.]
video:
It's really not that hard to do, so it's not like I'm hugely going out of the way. I figured learning about other peoples' worlds and magic and making some friends would be more than worth it.
[So in other words she isn't expecting anything, truly, except to garner goodwill. If that helps her out later on then it's well worth the small effort it takes to put together or teach a few spells or charms.]

[It makes sense to him. Maybe it'd be a different story if they had any support network besides each other or if the cave had much worth trading for, but the most valuable commodity to them right now is each other's goodwill, isn't it?
It means Ichigo's probably going to have to tell her something, at least, about his world, but he won't out anyone else's powers. Looks like he's finally going to have to tell somebody here that he used to see ghosts.]
What kind of stuff do you need?
video:
[But that tends to seem creepy to people, and is really only necessary for harmful spells. A luck charm cam be a lot less personal.]
I'm going to have to improvise on the components with the right associations since it's not like we have the normal selection here, but I'll figure something out. Then I can show you how to put it all together.
[Since she got the impression he'd like to learn a bit, and it's utterly harmless to teach him how to make a protective charm.]
video:
[Her impression is correct. Being able to put together a luck charm -- if it works -- would be a cool thing to know.]
I've got some stuff that might work. When do you want me to bring it over?
video:
[In other words it's super boring.]
