001 [Voice]

Much as I would have preferred not to be pulled unceremoniously from my own world, it has occurred to me that this is a rare opportunity to learn about worlds I was previously unaware of.

[In other words, this is her polite way of saying "I'm bored, entertain me".]

How many are from worlds were magic exists? How many are from worlds where the technology is highly advanced?

[She's more interested in the magic portion, really, but she is curious about people's answers regardless.]

What is the government structure like in your world?

Inquiring minds want to know. Or this one does, at least.

Magic exists in my world in many forms, but technology is nowhere near the kind that we have here. I believe the former compensates for the lack of the latter.

[Her second question makes his voice go a little tight with old memories.]

The gods rule over all and the different races have their own ways of governing themselves. Generally, whoever has the most power are the ones in charge.

Only a select few. Those with the wherewithal and proper tools can wield it in many forms.

[It's been a while since he talked about Urulat. Hadriel had become more and more of his home over the past seven months.]

All of those guesses put together. I knew a Sorceress who ruled by virtue of being the strongest magic user there was in the West. My mother ruled her race, the Were, by being the strongest, oldest, and wisest of her kind. It varies.

It's not so much about percentages as it is about race. The Ellylon and Were all use magic quite frequently. Men vary, depending on their aptitude. The other races Dwarves and Fjeltroll, rarely do so. Soon, it shall lessen as the other races disappear.

[The Were and Fjel would be the first to go. He's thankful being in this place saves him from having to see their endings.]

Oh, many. There is a war amongst the gods that spread over to the mortal beings, so all are divided against one another.

It is. Mayhaps it will end now that my god is dead, but I doubt it. People always find reasons to wage war against one another.

[They had been fighting since before Ushahin was born and would continue long after he was gone. Haomane was a fanatical god and wished to see all the other races destroyed but Man. In the end, he would see the ugly task through.]

After a war that has lasted since the world began, gods only know it deserves it.

[Maybe the races he's so close to, the Were and the Fjel, will have the barest chance to recover what was lost to them. He can only hope, even when he tries to deny such an emotion in his heart.]
