[The person in the video might look familiar to some, if slightly more tired and banged up than usual. Still, despite the bruise on his forehead and the dark streaks of ash on his face and clothes his eyes are bright, indicating to anyone even slightly acquainted with him that he's about to say something ridiculous.]

Surprise, bitch, I bet you thought you'd seen the last of me.

[His voice is a little weak but he delivers the line with all the sassiness it deserves, before suddenly offering a grin.]

Okay, so like maybe two people here got that reference, but I so don't care. I punched a shark, so I can make whatever meme references I want.

So um... Who's still here, I guess? Or who's new? How long have I been gone, because it feels like no time and like, a long time all at once. Sort of.

[He blinks a few times, smile fading a bit, mostly because he's totally exhausted.]

I'm um... I'm Chris, by the way. Been here before and whatever so... Got the general idea. The sharks are sort of new, though. Fucking sharks, man.

How long was it for you?

[Time is relative, after all. Which...people here know pretty well by now, he's pretty sure.]

I uh... I don't know, exactly. I-I mean, I remember everything from here but at the same time it feels like I was just at home, but I was just at home last time too, so...

[None of that made any sense, he's sure, mostly because it doesn't make sense to him so how would it to anyone else? But that's as much as he can explain it, at least at the moment.]

[Rather, he did miss kind of a lot, but it's probably for the best. It wasn't a real fun couple of months.]

I'm gonna guess that means I didn't miss anything I care to have missed.

Not... Exactly. I mean, I don't think any time passed at all, like everything I remembered from home before is just the same.

[So basically it was just a refresher on how much things sucked, with just as little resolution. Super great.]

But whatever, I guess. I can't, you know, say I'm too sad to be back here instead of there or anything.

Probably for the best you went missing when you did.

[He leans back, unstoppering a bottle of mustard to squeeze some of it out onto a fresh hotdog in his hand with a practiced fluidity, talking as he goes. Who'da thunk the guy could multitask?]

[Hey, multitasking when it comes to food is the most important type of multitasking. At the description of the event he just sort of raises his eyebrows a little, too tired to bother with much other reaction.]

Wow. That's uh, a little campy even for me. Did they get little evil mustaches too, or...?

Nope. Would'a helped if they did, honestly. Most of 'em just tried to slip into our lives, easy as you please.

[Worked, too, with most of 'em. Apparently he's the only one that caught that Connor weren't really Connor. Fortunately for him - and unfortunately, as point of fact - his own double made it pretty obvious that it weren't really him.]

Well that sounds not great. All the bad parts and none of the funny ones.

[And that's just super unfair. At least the sharks are kind of funny once you're not about to be eaten.]

Yeah, it was a whole big party. And not the fun kind.

[The sharks, at least, aren't sentient enough to be more than the same kinda snappy, anklebiting danger that most of the things down here tend to be.]

So, yeah, you sure didn't miss anything.

Awesome, well, I guess just totally losing however long it's been might've actually be a good thing. I'd ask if anyone good happened, but it's this place.

[So he's not expecting much on that front.]

Emily celebrated her birthday. That was pretty nice.

[And you missed it you chump.]

Oh yeah, the twentieth birthday ceremony thing, right? How'd that go?

[He be more sad about missing it if he weren't going to--hopefully, anyway--be there for the one back in their world.]

It was real nice. Hannah did a good job with it.

[And, uh, yeah. He kinda knows how things play out back home. With her. With Beth. Emily weren't real happy about that much, but hey - place has its perks.]

Hopefully she'll stick around for a while, yeah?
