Many of you seem to be unhappy.

We don't all necessarily want you to be happy, but acceptance and adaptation to your situation would be a start. The only question that remains is: how?

It is clear to us that your species resolves many issues through communication. Unfortunately, none of us understand the human psyche as clearly as others of your species, and so I leave it to you to communicate with and to help one another.

You may consider this post an open forum in which you can discuss what's been bothering you. In turn, I will conceal your identities, so that you may help one another without preconceived biases. If you'd like to reveal yourselves to one another, the option is there, but unnecessary.

Heal. Recover.

I can sense you pretty well. It's a lot easier to handle in person.

Sad, really. But I can't really complain when my powers let me do almost everything else just fine.

Sense me? Like what? Is it like when you get the feeling someone is watching you or behind you? Intuition? Smell?

Uh, yeah. I can't see, but the rest of my senses are really strong. I can even feel things like changes in water pressure or temperature.

[ That's not... weird, right? it's weird. ]

That's kind of what I meant when I said I was "eavesdropping" people.
It's kind of more than that.

Have you always had powers?

Yeah, exactly. I can hear it pretty clearly, even from far away if I focus.

[ He's really more used to people telling him that's creepy and invasive... ]

Got them when I was a kid. The same accident where I lost my sight, actually.

[ it is sort of weird and she is absolutely going to be thinking about how much he can tell about what she's doing when they hang out, but she's also wildly curious. so.]

That must have been scary.

I had my dad back then, so it was alright. Though the scariest thing was not being able to tell anyone. No one would believe what I could do, so I just kept quiet.

I'm glad you told me.

I'm not mad at you for hiding it, and I'm not afraid of you. Nothing changes between us. Except I guess I won't bother whispering around you. Ha ha.

Thanks for being so understanding. Admittedly this is easier to explain over text, but I've only told Connor so far and he's still not really used to it.

Honestly, I'm not used to people knowing, either. But yeah, even a whisper sounds loud and clear for me.

Connor's kind of normal is very different than yours or mine. It might be actual normal.

Is it a relief to tell other people?

Yeah, you're probably right. With all the crazy things that happen here I kinda worry that he won't be able to handle it, at least not on his own.

It's a relief to hear people say it's not a big deal.

You're probably right. I just wish he didn't have to.
But with the way bad things happen here, it's not realistic to just hope he'll always be alright. We can't be there for him 24/7.

Yeah, they are. I can't blame them, though. My powers give me a lot of advantages. I don't expect other people to understand how I can tell if someone's smiling by their breathing without being able to tell what color their eyes are.

Better safe than sorry.

You can tell when I'm smiling?

Right. It's not like there are any rules here.

When we meet in person, sure. In your voice and your pulse, that kind of thing. If I focus I could hear your muscles move too, but that's about where my powers get really invasive.

How do you concentrate with all that noise?

I'm used to it. Once you learn how to filter it out, it all kind of becomes white noise.

Like I said, I have to really focus to pick out the little things.
