So, uh. I've been told that I should get out more. Meet people. I'm not any good at that, so you're just gonna have to--bear with me as I figure this shit out. But I guess I've gotta bite the bullet sometime, right?

[she looks off camera and flushes slightly out of a combination of nerves and embarrassment]

Anyway, I'm George. I'm newish. I have--no fucking idea what I'm doing here. Does anyone? If you do, could you please fill me in.

Yeah, he resurrects people. He resurrected the other gods too.

[Jo shrugs.]

That's so weird. I guess he technically resurrected me, too, since now I bleed like a normal person.

That's probably why they're bosses.

The Door probably did that. [It did it for her too, but she won't bring it up.]

Yeah, it probably is. You have to have the right skills to lead.

I dunno if I should thank it or not. I'd gotten used to the whole rapid-healing thing.

If by "skills," you mean being a complete and utter dickweed, that would describe Rube.

There are magical healers here. Don't worry too much.

[She laughs quietly, nodding.]

Hell if I know. My boss wasn't much for explanations. I was just supposed to do my job and not ask any questions.

In my world you don't usually see Reapers. Before death, anyway.

In mine, we're there. We have to eat, sleep, all the normal stuff of being alive. And all the problems of being alive--having a job, dealing with other people, just. Surviving.

What, really? That's gotta suck.

[She doesn't think that's fair either.]

It does suck! And thank you for saying so, 'cause I couldn't get my boss to understand that it did. Granted, he's so old, he probably reaped Jesus.

Anything where you don't have a choice kinda sucks. People forget that sometimes.

I think it's 'cause he's so old. He's so set on all of us doing what we're told, he's forgotten how to actually, you know, talk to people.

[Despite the topic of conversation, Jo smiles softly.]

[arches eyebrow slightly]

He's old and grumpy and if you don't listen to him he gets even more pissed. [She smiles. She misses Bobby a lot, just like everyone else.]
