[Don't mind this jerk, he's been keeping to himself for several days, diligently learning as much as he can in private. Including how not to burn down a kitchen. But now, he's got an actual question for which using the network seems the fastest route to an answer.
I heard there was a clinic, here. If I'm going to be stuck here for a while...I might as well make myself useful. I'm a doctor - a surgeon. Who do I talk to about the clinic?
[World's worst beside manner, by the way]
Unrelated, but if anyone has suggestions for meals for someone who can't cook, I...
[his actual request is cut off by a loud thunk just off screen. Law turns to see what it is, and the twist of his head and shoulders tips the video feed just enough to let everyone see what has just appeared in his living room. He sure didn't teleport that there, so...]
...what the hell??

[After a moment he then adds]
As for the sudden appearance of furniture, I'm afraid thats sort of how things go here in the cave.
[Perhaps not the most satisfactory answer, but its true]
[Video]
[ahem.] Doctor. That would probably be a good idea, since all you have to go on is my word. Do you frequently need surgical expertise around here?
Re: [Video]
[He half-smiles]
We are in need of anyone who has experience with wound treatment. We don't really have the facilities to allow for invasive surgery, but for the most part what we are dealing with are injuries that need cleaning and closing and being certain they don't become infected.
[He reaches up to push his glasses back into place on his nose]
Would you be able to meet me at the clinic in about 30 minutes?
[Video]
Triage is easy. Perhaps I'll have to show you what else I can do.
[he's eager to rub shoulders with other doctors, even if his own experiences with them have been checkered at best. And Law is nothing if not punctual.]
Re: [Video]
[Rosen is uncertain how this man could show him what else he claims he can do, but nothing was going to be settled over the phone so he is content to wait and see]

Healthy, balanced. I've read the warning about meat but protein, particularly fish, is important for strength. I'm not a cook, I haven't really done much of it since I was a child.

You can find some small fish at the edges of the lake, although you'd have to cook a fair number of them to make a meal worthwhile. There may be more deeper in, but there may be monsters there as well. Someone went swimming in the lake a few weeks ago, and found the bones of some giant creature.
Has anyone pointed you toward the orchard, yet? You'll find fresher fruits and vegetables there than you would in the shops.
Voice
[he sure will go check that out, thanks Fingon]
I prefer seafood, but river fish is better than nothing. Thanks.

The food available from the stores seems to prioritize longevity. There's a place for that, of course, but it does get dull at times. The orchard is your best bet for novelty and flavor, and what grows there does not seem to be governed by the movement of seasons.
If you've never cooked fish before, consider poaching them rather than baking or grilling. They dry out quickly unless you're careful, and with fish that small even a minute of two could make the difference.

Ah, sure I want it! I know a guy who's big on carpentry, he'll get a kick out of it. Where ya holed up, kid? I think they've got some of that, uh, canned soup sitting around in the stores if you wanna trade for it. Hard to screw up canned soup, right? You don't even have to heat it up!
video;
I don't need a trade. I can't see myself using it, just take it. The tower nearest the coliseum, third floor.
[might as well pawn it off on someone ASAP, just in case more hilarity drops into his apartment while he's out]

[ Fantasy Craigslist saves the day. This has probably been the nicest day Merle's had here so far. His first month set a low standard, though. It takes him more than a minute to get there, and honestly takes probably a little bit longer than it should when accounting for the fact that he actually lives like. One floor down from Law. But Merle is both distractable and forgetful.
Eventually, however, he knocks. ]

I work at the clinic, and we could always use more help. If you come by now I can show you around?
[ video ]
[damn, he's really going to love this technology. So fast and easy.]
Yeah, it's not like I'm doing anything else right now. Besides watching chairs teleport into my room.
Re: [ video ]
[ video ]
You've managed to convince me. I'll be down shortly.
Re: [ video ]
[ And so he is, when Law comes by. He's on the small side and delicate looking in person, with a long braid trailing over his shoulder... he fiddles with the end of it as he leans against the side of the clinic, waiting, one foot propped up on the wall. Any excuse for some fresh air, really. Though he looks troubled, when he spots Law he perks back up, smiling. ]
Hey.

[A lot of people say they can't cook, but they can still make scrambled eggs, and that's somewhere to start. He tips his head slightly to look at the odd chair in the rear of the frame.
Well, that's interesting.]
video;
I haven't cooked for myself since I was about thirteen. I can make rice, but I don't know recipes or anything like that.
video;
Then you have a grasp of basic principles. What would you like to be able to cook? I believe I can be of some assistance.
video;
[mainly, he did browse one of the shops but canned and packaged foods looked terrible]
video;
[Ignis tends to call it as he sees it, and no matter the motivation, this is someone interested in cooking.]
And knowing what you would prefer to be eating will be what guides my advice, so, if you please...
