(He is deep within one of the adjoining caverns, holding a lamp aloft. It's totally understandable if you have never seen anything quite like it. He is a crafty Elf.)

No one seems to have a thirst for mining ore. Is it an uncommon practice in other worlds?

(He sets down the lamp and lifts up a pick-axe, bringing it against the rock wall in a precise manner. The stone gives away, cracking and revealing something that...shimmers...underneath. He runs his hand over it, curious.)

Some call this a hellish land - and perhaps that is so - but we are within this planet's womb. I should like to see what treasures can be unveiled.

Did your Narvi teach you that song?

[handofsilver]

He did! (He smiles brightly at the memory, chipping - carefully - around the new material.) The Doors were not made overnight.

[ He laughs ]

I would think not! I would be hesitant to trust anything that was put together so quickly!

[handofsilver]

Those doors you can trust, I assure you! (He picks up a piece of the debris and brings it into the light.) I thought Narvi and I were rather clever with them.

So I hear! Was it more Narvi's work, or yours?

[handofsilver]

The spells were more my doing. (Because Elves.)

[bythewaves]

I thought they might have been. And the carving Narvi's eh? Who decided to call it Moria on the door?

[handofsilver]

Yes - for the most part. (He flushes and ducks his head.) I did. Black chasm seemed fitting, don't you think?

[bythewaves]

It does now, yes! But did not Narvi find it insulting?

[handofsilver]

I did not tell him the meaning of it. [He mutters, grinning mischievously.]

[ Maglor snorts, amused ]

Tyelpe, Tyelpe. You are aware many dwarves speak Sindarin, yes?

[handofsilver]

I asked! He said he didn't know it. (But Narvi could've been lying. He considers that fact and then...chuckles.) He let it stay regardless!

He is clearly too fond of you to refuse.

It has a nice ring to it, at least. Moria. (Because that's all that matters, right?)

I am sure it does, but you are lucky your friendship runs so true!

[handofsilver]

He was a good friend. (But the lives of Elves and Dwarves are not similar.)

[bythewaves]

You miss him, eh? Tell me about him as you work?

[handofsilver]

He was the opposite of what he outwardly seemed. I thought he would be gruff and impersonal, but when he spoke, he was kind and his passion for his craft matched my own.

[bythewaves]

Did he worth with other things than stone?

[handofsilver]

He made some fine weapons, but his heart was with the stone.

[bythewaves]

He must have found you confusing then, little Silverfist, with your mind always so interested in everything around you!

[handofsilver]

I think I made it impossible for him to do anything but adapt. (Does he feel bad about that? No.) He broadened his knowledge alongside me. That made it more interesting.

I am glad you found someone of like mind! It cannot have been easy - I am so proud of you, Tyelpe.

You make me sound like I belong on another planet! (Oh wait. Since he's in Hadriel, maybe he does!)
