Fear had to move the city a couple of times due to the Null attack. That's how we ended up on the surface.

And it's as Jo says, Fear moved the city to this strange place. The Null invaded us and we fought back ferociously, and we won. We had to, or there would have been live Null left over, to broadcast our new whereabouts to the Null bases out there in the Great Void.

I don't know anything about sunscreen, but I might be able to make you a pair of sunglasses.

Yes, I'm sure I could. I'll make the circuit of all those weird shops and see if I can find the materials I would need. With luck, I'll find something that can be easily modified. Worst case scenario is that I have to synthesize some glass of the right type and tint it myself. But I can do that. No problem.
