Video 5 - Sewing Shop

Hello, everyone! I wanted to let you know that the Sewing Shop is open for business. Please stop by if you need your garments mended or if you need something new that you can't find in the shops. I know how hard it is to find things that fit properly there.

I'm also available to give sewing lessons should you wish to learn! It's a very useful skill to have, especially here where anything can happen.

[she thinks about dying all the time. she can't help it, especially now that she knows that the world has moved on without her. there would be no place for her in Westeros, she can't stay here forever, and that means that Matt's world is her only hope]

You can wait here if you don't mind. It won't take long for me to repair it. And usually I ask for a bolt of fabric from Tranquility in return.

I don't mind. I'd actually like to see how you do it. Hmm, what color would you like?

「He supposes he can do that.」

A repair of this kind shouldn't take too terribly long, but it requires precision. And I think I'd like blue. Blue is versatile and a lot of people like that color.

[Tranquility's tasks are a little more tricky than Delight's were, but they're not impossible]

Ah, for sure, I like blue too.

「If his school jacket shows it at all.

Then he goes a little thoughtful.」

Say, Margaery... would would anyone teach a queen to be to sew?

「It doesn't quite match the whole queen picture for him.」

Blue is flattering to almost everyone.

[it does. which she is busily working on.

she laughs brightly] That's because I wasn't taught as a queen. I was taught as a girl. Every young lady of Westeros is expected to be able to embroider and sew garments, either fancy dresses for themselves or clothes for the poor. And like everything I set my mind to, I excelled at the task. Though, it's true, I'd had little opportunity to practice it until I came here.

「He knows, he looks fabulous in blues.」

You're really good at it, and that makes much more sense... What about the boys?

[so does she. oddly enough, green, one of her own House colors makes her look washed out]

I know Sansa is an accomplished sewer as well, but I don't think Daenerys ever had the chance to learn.

The boys are taught the sword and the lance along with battle tactics.

「After the tidbits Daenerys has told him about her life, that statement is a bit sad.

Ah, but of course.」

Should have known.

「It doesn't sound condescending other than well, yeah, he's not sure why he imagined something different.」

[it is sad. Daenerys has had to go through a lot to become the strong young woman she is]

Should have known what?

[about Dany not sewing? about what she said that boys learn?]

That they'd teach boys about war rather than how to sew their garments.

「Why not both...?

Oh, but before she takes offence.」

I guess it wasn't so different back home.

[she chuckles wryly]

That's what their wives, mothers, and sisters are for.

[no offense taken. she may not have been taught the sword, but Olenna Tyrell saw to it that Margaery has at least some idea of battle tactics. more than some idea, actually]

Your women weren't taught to wage war, either?

「That's so not what women are for, in his opinion.」

Not quite, though, we've had Queens along the way, it's almost always men leading the armies or taking care of constructions. The harshest jobs I'd think.

[not in her opinion, either]

The Seven Kingdoms have never had a queen rule by herself. Not even when the firstborn was a girl.

I have the feeling that's about to change.

「It's a shame Margaery might not see it. Nor Atem, but, whatever, it's good.」

[begrudgingly]

Well. It already has changed. After my death my husband, King Tommen, took his own life. His mother, my murderer, seized the Iron Throne for herself. Fortunately, Daenerys is on her way to take it back.

[Margaery won't see it. she's set on going to Matt's world. but she wishes Dany well in her endeavors]

「Oh... right he forgot about the in-law.」

I have faith in her.

「That's all he can do.」

You're still angry... aren't you?

「Yeah he doesn't need to read her mind to notice the tone.」

[Margaery wants Cersei Lannister to burn]

So do I. She has the Dothraki and the Unsullied already along with the support of Yara Greyjoy, Ellaria Sand, and my grandmother. All formidable women. There's no doubt in my mind that Daenerys will succeed.

[it will have to be enough.

she takes a long moment in replying] Yes. Yes, I'm still angry. About so many things.

「Sounds like a lot of support, which is good. Unity and relying of friends and allies is the best Daenerys can do.

Atem keeps his eyes on her, momentarily.」

What would make you let go of that anger?

[Margaery doesn't think much of the Greyjoys or of Dorne, but the reputations of the Dothraki and the Unsullied precede them.

she looks down]

Aside from being able to kill Cersei Lannister with my own hands?

「Atem tries so hard not to give her a pitiful smile, not quite at her but at the sentiment of sympathy he's got going. He's also been there.」

Yeah. Revenge... leads nowhere.

「But, damn, it was so satisfying.」

[she's angry at so many. Cersei. the High Sparrow. the gods. and she has nowhere to direct that anger]

Then what am I to do? Just--accept what Cersei did to me and forgive her? I can't do that.

[she bets it would be]

Unfortunately...? Yeah... I don't doubt she's going to get what she deserves after all the wrongs that she's done, the same goes to every person that's hurt you. But you don't... you shouldn't maim your soul nor blemish your heart with hate. Believe me, I've seen what it's able to do to a person. You'd be dooming yourself to oblivion. It's not worth it.

「He wishes he knew a way to channel that anger, alas, he doesn't. Maybe, just... talking would help.」

Why can't you?

Forgive Cersei. [she says as though the idea is completely foreign to her] She murdered me along with my father, my little brother and at least a hundred other people. She's guilty of so much and seems to get away with all of it. I don't know if I can be at peace until I know she's paid for what she's done.

[talking about it helps. she's so used to putting on the pleasing, charming mask and concealing what she truly feels]

Cersei not only killed me, she had me imprisoned along with my brother. My brother because he lays with men and me because I lied to protect him.

「It takes him a moment to process all of what she says, and the more he hears, is no wonder why Margaery harbors those feelings inside her.」

I've been on... that side before, on the side of revenge and it wasn't entirely unjustified, no, but in the end, it didn't work in their favor. They... simply ended up destroying themselves with their own hate.

「He tries to give her a sympathetic look.」

No one can stop you if that's what you're set to do, Margaery, but... believe me when I tell you, it's not worth it. She will get what is coming to her, but, haven't you suffered enough?

[Cersei Lannister is an eternal thorn in Margaery's side, keeping her from fully enjoying anything]

I'm not in any danger of that as long as I'm here and she's there. If she were here. . . I don't know what I'd do.

[she appreciates it. truly, she does]

I--I haven't suffered.
