[There are two failed attempts at posting this photo, both of which are still sent to everyone: the first is completely dark, and the second is half thumb and half dark red hair. The third's still got some thumb in it, but at least you can see what Lilith's trying to get a picture of. In the tiny crack of an open door is the inside of Lilith's apartment. It's not that trashed, which is great!

There's also a coeurl in there, square in the center of the shot.

[she sends a video of the coeurl: the giant cat's body shifts, up and down, in a steady rhythm.

off-camera, lilith whispers:] I'm... pretty sure it's asleep.

[Okay, the animal doesn't look immediately homicidal. So that's good. Probably. Maketh rubs her forehead.]

Can you walk past it? Quietly?

[She pauses.]

I'll give you pancakes. And coffee.

[Bribery works wonders on hungover people, she's found.]

You're a goddess. [murmurs Lilith, just short of reverent. She could cry, really.] A breakfast goddess.

[The camera stays pointed at the sleeping creature as Lilith walks backward and out of her apartment.]

I think some guys are coming to help. It's too early [at 1 in the afternoon?] for this shit.

[Oh thank the maker. Maketh exhales sharply.]

Come over when it's done. All right?

[cashlin]

I will. [And her luck holds out: Lilith slips out the front door and into the stairwell. As she takes a seat on the stair, she turns the camera around at last.

Her eyes have dark circles, and she's evidently exhausted. In spite of it, there's a tired smile on her face.]

Dude. I had no idea you could drink like that.

[mismanagement]

[Oh good, she's still alive. Maketh would have been--well, she would have acted very disappointed upon your resurrection, Lilith. Maketh smiles just a little.] You're not the first to say that. Think you can make it over to my apartment in one piece, or shall I fetch you?

[cashlin]

[She laughs quietly. Sure, this splitting headache makes her wish she were dead in theory, but it'll take more than this to bring her down for good.]

No fetching necessary. I'll make it, and I probably won't even puke in a bush on the way.

[mismanagement]

[Maketh gives her a little smile.] So long as you don't puke on my carpet, there will be pancakes for you.

Your carpet's safe, promise. See ya as soon as this thing's dealt with, okay?

[Sure enough, she shows up at Maketh's door post-coeurl wrangling. (And post-getting sick in the comfort of her own bathroom, thanks very much.)]

All right.

[Despite dealing with a Not Fun hangover of her own, Maketh has pancakes ready when Lilith shows up. And a few other things from cans that somewhat resemble sausage, but are greasy enough that no one really needs to think about their actual contents.

Her hair is down when she opens the door, and Maketh's uniform nowhere to be seen.] Ah, you made it. Come in.

[cashlin]

[Lilith, on the other hand, has her hair up, for once, even if it's not long enough for more than a short ponytail that sticks out haphazardly. Her worn leather jacket's nowhere to be seen, either: just a plain pink shirt. Hardly the picture of the usual daring bounty hunter.]

I swear I could smell those pancakes cooking a mile away. [she says, smiling, before stepping inside.] Thanks, Maketh. You're a lifesaver.

[mismanagement]

[Maketh checks the hallway before closing the door, just in case. No monsters. That's good.] I have practice. Surviving hangovers, I mean.

[So much practice.]

Have a seat. Amos is out or--possibly unconscious, I'm not sure. [She inclines her head toward the second bedroom, door firmly closed.]

[cashlin]

If he is out-- of commission, that is-- I wouldn't blame the guy.

[Her head's not pounding nearly as much anymore, but she'll still gladly take that seat. Lilith's already super done with this day, and it's barely even started.]

Man. I don't wanna know what drinking you've been doing. [a beat.] No, that's a lie, I totally wanna know. [A grin pulls at the corners of her mouth.] I can't believe you're still up after all of that.

[mismanagement]

[Maketh smiles a little. All things considered, Amos is rather good at pacing himself when it comes to drinking. But she doubts any of them had ever experienced something like Delight's brand of partying. She ducks into the kitchen and returns with pancakes and coffee, setting them out on the table.] Like I said -- practice. Doing shots with TIE pilots does that to a person. And I never missed morning muster, I'll have you know.

[cashlin]

[Ohhh, coffee. The aroma alone's helping bring her back from her zombified state. She takes her own mug and has a sip.

Puzzlingly, it's the best coffee she's had in ages, even without the weighty post-hangover bias. Pandora was barren, and with its deathly reputation, the only ships that ever flew in with supplies could get away with highway robbery if they wanted to. She breathes in the scent and the steam with a contented sigh.]

With the coffin jockeys themselves? [pfft.] And if I hadn't been herding cats this morning-- literally-- there's no way you could've gotten me out of bed, ever. You're a crazy person.

[she means this affectionately. promise.]

[mismanagement]

Indeed. [Maketh pushes the plate of pancakes across the table, and starts in on her own coffee.] Oh, I'm sure I could have thought of something. How did that creature get in your room?

[cashlin]

[She pauses for another, more thoughtful, sip.]

That's for drunk Lilith to know and sober Lilith to speculate on. Seriously.

[mismanagement]

[Maketh actually laughs at that, a little.]

You certainly find yourself in interesting moments. Though I'm glad you were not hurt.

[cashlin]

You should see what I got up to back home.

[Huh. Since when was Pandora 'home'? She doesn't dwell on it, though, and continues.]

Yeah... me too. But there's no way a couerl could've taken me down. That's like getting killed by a skag: I'm stronger than that.

[mismanagement]

I can imagine.

[Maketh has known bounty hunters and the sort of things they get up to. Lilith isn't quite the same, but her life is far from quiet. Maketh drinks her coffee, considering it.] Even when you're hungover?

[She's teasing. A little.]

[cashlin]

Don't even joke. [which she says, of course, with a laugh.] Mordecai-- don't know if you remember him, he was the real thin one with the dorky mask-and-goggles combo-- did shots with me at a funeral reception once, but a bunch of bandits tried to crash the party. Apparently, he's actually an even better shot when he's drunk.

Dunno if I can say the same for myself, but hey, I carried my weight then, too.

[mismanagement]

[Maketh grins at that. She can imagine it very well. Lilith's world is contentious like that.] I remember him. There was a -- bird? Of some sort, on his shoulder.

I doubt I'd be much of a shot after a night of drinking, but -- [Here she smiles] -- I always seem to survive them.

[cashlin]

Bloodwing. [she adds.] I... don't actually know if that's his name or species. I never asked him.

You know, I've never actually seen you use a gun. You had pretty good aim chucking tennis balls at me, but that's different.

[mismanagement]

Perhaps it's both? [Maybe. Maketh doesn't know how these things are done on Pandora. She shrugs.] I didn't usually carry weapons, on Lothal. A demonstration of trust in my men, you see. The same reason I didn't wear armor. But I can shoot.

[cashlin]

Hope not. Imagine being a human named 'Human'. [These are important thoughts, obviously.]

I hope you don't wind up needing to test that anytime soon. [That raises another question, though.] How many did you work with? You must've really trusted them if you were completely unarmed around them all.
