[the video opens on Margaery sitting neatly in a chair, wearing one of her usual gowns with her sword sitting on her lap. for those with practiced eyes or those who know Margaery well, they will be able to tell that her smile is still strained and not entirely meeting her eyes, but it's still bright and beautiful just the same]

Hello, everyone! I wanted to remind you that the Sewing Shop is open and ready for business here on the North Island. I can make a wide variety of clothing or embellish that which you already have. You have only to ask.

The only price is that you have to obtain a bolt of fabric from Tranquility in exchange. All manners of fabric are welcome as are all colors.

One of your friends, Party Poison, has approached me about making clothing for all of you. He's already paid in advance, so all you need to do is come over so I can take your measurements and talk to you about what you would like to have.

I have a few surprises for you. Come over whenever you like and I'll have them ready for you.

He did, and I wish I had known him better! I only had the one conversation with him, but what I heard impressed me greatly. He was one with convictions, but also with great kindness.

And an endless desire to protect the innocent and less fortunate. I don't know what he found in me to find me worthy, but I'm grateful he did.

I think he must have seen in you what all can see, if they would only bother to look! A strong will, and a kind heart, a keen intelligence, and a gentle spirit.

[she takes the handkerchief and delicately dabs at her eyes]

It's simply. . . there are so many things from home that I look back on and regret.

There are for many of us, I think. [ He says simply ]

But we cannot change the past, only the future.

[roseofthetyrells]

Perhaps. I wonder how they're all able to cope.

[she sighs] I suppose so. I'm trying to make that future worth something.

[bythewaves]

I cannot speak for others, but... well. You know how I cope.

[ By moping trying not to think about it too much ]

You do. You will. I believe it.

I do. And I wish you'd be kinder to yourself.

[she copes by throwing herself into her socializing and training and the Sewing Shop]

I hope so and I'm grateful that you believe in me.

[ Maglor only shrugs a little - he deserves very little kindness, but Margaery is kind and he will not argue with her ]

I do, because I have seen your fight here.

Thank you. I'd like to believe that I've become skilled at it.

I think you have! You remind me of one of my aunts, in long ago days - kind and gentle and stronger than steel.

...I like that description. I'll do my best to live up to it.

She was one of the Teleri, Earwen of Swan-haven. [ Maglor remembers fondly ] She married my uncle Arafinwe. Like the swans of her people, she was beautiful, kind and gentle, graceful and elegant... until you got her temper up, and then she was vicious in the defense of her people. I don't know if she ever forgave uncle for what we did. I hope she did, for their love was very great.

[she inclines her head gracefully]

I am honored by the comparison. It sounds as though she is what I strive to become.

[bythewaves]

She would have liked you, I think. [ He smiles ]

Most of the ladies of my family would have, although Irisse may have demanded that you go out hunting with her a few times before she warmed up to you.

Hunting! Do you know, hunting was one of Joffrey's few joys? He took me out to join him often enough. I would need to warm up to the task again.

[bythewaves]

Was it? Irisse - Aredhel, the White Lady, they called her later - she was never one for indoors, how Turgon her brother convinced her to go with him to Gondolin I will never know. For little Idril's sake, I must suppose. But she was a wild one, more akin to my brother Celegorm than to Turgon and his love of books! Ask Fingon - she's his baby sister, and Turgon his younger brother. I'm sure he has plenty of hair-raising tales!

[roseofthetyrells]

I'm sure he would! Your society seems to have one thing that mine is sorely lacking . . . the ability for women to determine their own fates instead of having them endlessly tied to whatever man had charge.

[bythewaves]

Well, there are limitations I suppose - but one does not tell someone like our Irisse what she cannot do! If only because she was liable to laugh and then do it anyway. I'm sure it helped that we were all terribly indulged as children, being royalty.

[roseofthetyrells]

I'd imagine so! But unlike the vast majority of royalty I've known, it didn't spoil you. Not one bit. And don't try to argue otherwise.

[bythewaves]

You only say that because you did not know us as younglings! I assure you, I was very much a spoilt princeling - you can ask Fingon if you don't believe me.

I remember playing with young you when the so-called gods made us think we were children again. You were lovely, at least to me.

[bythewaves]

Why thank you, but I was thinking more of my young adult years...ask Fingon about my "I am a better bard than you" phase some time!
