The gods I'm familiar with don't give a damn about dying in glory. My friends died in sacrifice to our realm, one even managed to kill the enemy with them, but their souls were trapped even so. Because human souls can be bargianed with by gods and sorcerers.

[That's what made it painful. Not dying, but knowing some were still trapped] Not that this would be permanent. One of my friends was killed within this realm and she was resurrected-felt like hell, but she came back.

[She'd almost laugh, if only to keep down the feelings of sorrow.]

[The grief she'd been hiding had hit a wall, leaving her with such a sense of sadness it was almost painful. Hearing the guy ranting, she found herself reminded of her superiors-before all hell broke loose]

The only thing I believe and care about is a way to get us all home. If that means siding with such beings so be it. Whether you believe in the gods or not, makes no difference. You want to help us all find a way home, then either take this journey or find some alternate route.
