[ Floki was furious. Never had he felt so passionately insulted before! It was as if everyone on these stupid Islands had been brainwashed!
He had heard several peoples views on the Gods most just called them that for ease as no one truly believe them to be deities at all, yet here everyone was, joining forces with them like loyal little followers!

It's true, we have to give them something. We speak of feeding them, but in fact it's not quite that direct. They simply wait for the feelings to come drifting in and they partake. They don't come and suck on us directly. [ He makes this sound a little obscene. ] I don't know if you can be all right with it. Nobody is, really.
[ That is one of the things Curufin loves about Floki, that his eyes are questioning eyes, and his intentions have a sort of clarity and purity about them. He strives to respond to that sincerity, as nothing else will do. ]
I must assume that your Gods are with you, since you assure me that they are. But surely they know your long-standing love and loyalty to them, and surely they will take into account that you live in a world not of your own choosing, and that you have not chosen to worship the false gods?
