Hey everyone, this is Peter. I'm, uh... Just lemmie-- Okay, I'm gonna preface this with "I'm fine", which... probably still sounds concerning to anyone who knows me. Uh, with good reason, but I promise that I really am fine.

So... okay, you know those freaky tentacle snails that attacked those guys a little while ago? Yeah, they're still around. I ran into a few of them outside the city, and by 'ran into' I mean 'was totally ambushed by'. Like, I was just minding my own business and they jumped out all "Blahhhhgh!" and I was like "oh snap!!", so yeah, we fought a little and I got bit and, y'know, it hurt. And I know the one guy was all "hey call for back up if you see any" and I totally would have if I'd had a chance, but I didn't? I mean, not because I didn't want to, it's just like, in the moment I was a little distracted by trying to get away from the things, and I didn't have my web shooters on me because they're possessed by demons right now? So I wasn't gonna even try to catch one of those guys without my gear, so I left. My toothbrush tried to stab me this morning, I'm not dealin' with this on top of that today. I'm done, I'm tapping out!

Anyway, if anyone else ends up fighting these guys, go for the eyes if you can. They're kind of hard to hit because of all the tentacles, but if you can take their eyes out it slows them down. They're still dangerous, though, like, they will absolutely still try to fight you, so just like, don't stick around if you can help it. In fact, just don't go outside the city by yourself. Don't go anywhere by yourself. Y'know, buddy system up if you can. I don't know how many of these dudes are still out there, but I have a feeling that they're not going away any time soon.

Oh right, I did manage to break a chunk off one of their shells. I don't know how helpful that's gonna be? But I've got it at the lab if anyone wants to see it, assuming you can pry it away from Newt. I also got a photo! It's... not a very good one, but uh, I'll put this somewhere, I guess.

Oh my grife, no, you are not gonna try eating the nautilus monsters. No way. Besides, something tells me that killing one to eat it would be way more trouble than it's worth.

You're right though, I'm not gonna do that. I think they're probably intelligent anyway? So it would be more like eating a person than an animal and then you're getting into some weird ethical issues and I'm just not gonna touch that. And also yes cracking through those shells isn't super easy.

Yeah, they're sentient. Homicidal, but sentient. Besides, if you really wanted seafood, you'd have been better off digging for clams where we used to live.

Aw man, I hadn't even thought about clams! ugh, well, too late now.

All the clam chowder--that's what they used to do with clams, right?--that you'll never have the chance to eat. Oh, well. At least you have your thirty cans of anchovies.

I never was much of a clam chowder person. My aunt made a good one, though. Maybe I can invent some kind of... anchovy chowder.

No, that sounds horrible, I'm not even gonna joke about that.

Good. Anchovy chowder sounds like a great way to stink up your house and drive out your roommates.

If I ever need to clear the house out so I can throw a big party, that's how I'm gonna do it.

I-- well, I was joking, I don't really do parties. I don't think they'd mind, though, as long as nothing got broken. They're pretty cool.

Last time I went to a party, I bailed like five minutes in. But then that was because I had to go stop an illegal weapon deal. Things were weird.

Oh. Well, I promise you wouldn't have to skip out to stop an illegal weapons deal.

Well, in that case, maybe I'd consider it. Maybe after we get this thing with the snails figured out.

Eh. I'm just gonna do my own thing anyway, I don't really care how anyone treats me. But you're right, this is all going to be one big, convoluted mess knowing our luck.

I do, because I've had half a year to do my own thing and I like it. And the buddy system is great and all, but I miss that trust.

I kind of wonder why we ran into them here, of all places. I mean, it's frozen, it's frigid, it's hardly a great climate for. Nautilus creatures. You'd think they would've been all over the islands?

Nobody can actually stop you from doing your own thing here. Just sayin'.

From what I've gathered, it sounds like this is actually their home world. Maybe they're just not from this part of it? I couldn't say.

No, but there will be doubt and "Tinya, you should be more careful" like I'm a porcelain doll who will break if you look at her too hard.

I could try flying all around this planet? It would be tough and I'd need a lot of supplies, but I could do it. And see if there are more welcoming climates.

How... like, how fast can you fly? That's not a bad idea, but there's a lot of planet to cover.

My flight ring works using my willpower, so I guess I can fly as fast as I will it to.

So you could probably cover a lot of ground in a relatively short amount of time. Would you be able to take anyone with you?

Probably. I haven't really pushed myself to see how fast I can go yet. But I'd have to carry anyone I brought with me, probably on my back. That might slow me down, I'm not sure.
