It was like two months ago. There are these monsters that turn people into more monsters if they engage in cannibalism, and the gods put human meat in our food supply so a lot of people turned into wendigos.

[It's the simplest way he can explain it, and he'll just leave out the part about these wendigos being from his world.]

Wendigos eat people normally so one you're a wendigo you can do whatever. I think they can eat other meat if they really want, but they like humans best.

I don't know for sure. I'm not really much of an expert on this stuff.

But I'd guess the same advice till applies, about making sure you don't eat any meat that came from a person.
