So uh... Hey everyone. Again.

I know like, a bunch of people just arrived so... Welcome, I guess. We're still working on the newbie's guide to waking up in a cave-city run by gods, but until then like, if you have any questions I can try and help? Also uh, it's probably safe at this point and we're just being paranoid, but you may want to avoid eating any meat products you find here. For reasons.

Also uh, sort of related, but I was thinking that maybe before next month we should really... Plan some way to help out? I mean, people just sort of show up and half the time there's monsters too, and... Maybe some sort of organized thing for helping the new people not get like, eaten or whatever would be a good idea.

[This is not exactly his area of expertise, so if other people want to take charge on this he's more than happy to let them, but otherwise he'll try and figure something out. It really seems like something important to get established.]

In uh, a rare moment of good news though, the whole coffee thing worked out. So if you want coffee there's some at Delight's bar now, though you'll have to like... Be kind of patient with me and the others being possibly terrible baristas. Still kind of getting the hang of the whole thing.

[But surely coffee itself is well worth any less-than-practiced customer service; they're at least pretty good at making coffee, including somewhat elaborate drinks, and as far as Chris is aware they're all trying. That's what counts, right?

I think that's about it, except for that like... If anyone's curious, the handheld games from the arena this month are just normal games. I thought maybe they'd be some sort of weird alien-versions of them, but I guess not; I took one apart and it was all the expected stuff inside it.

That said I'm totally betting I can beat anyone's high scores.

Trade, hm? I had no idea you had to trade something in order to gain something in this place. I'm not sure what I could trade her. [Would it be that difficult for tea to be placed on the menu?]

Perhaps, I could reason with her and see what happens in the outcome? [Since he was a man of reason and Delight seemed to be a nicer god than Fear.]

Yeah, I'm pretty sure you have to trade to get anything from any of the gods. Delight's super chill though, so if you're going to negotiate with one she's definitely the one to talk to.

How would I approach one of these gods to ask for their approval regarding the tea choice? Would I just use the communicator and send them a message? [Because he's in the dark here, dude.]

Delight. Hm. Is she a reasonable sort of person?

Yeah, just send her a message like you would to anyone else.

She's been really easy to talk to, yeah. And with her you don't have to worry much about like, accidentally saying the wrong thing and getting people murdered or something.

I'll give it a shot. I have other questions I wish to ask everyone here too, so I'll include a private one to Delight and hope she agrees on what I have to say.

Sounds good. The gods watch the network and respond sometimes, but if she doesn't she probably just missed it.

They do? Well, good. They should respond and not treat us like cattle. [That's what it felt like anyway to him.]

Yeah, well. A lot of things 'should' be that aren't.

True. It seems we are the one who are currently being used as pawns in the gods' wide game. What's their purpose? What do they seek from feeding off our emotions?

[He's always wondered that.]

I think it's just how they get energy, like we do with food or whatever. I don't know if they need it to survive, though, but it like... Takes a lot out of them to do their whole magic thing, like when Hope revives us or one of the other gods. So I guess they probably need to store it up to do stuff?

[And he's not entirely sure what any of them other than Hope would be storing up for, but it couldn't be anything good from Rage and Fear. Chris is not all that concerned about what Delight might be planning, though.]

So, are you saying that when one of us dies the gods use up their power reserves to bring us back? What if they run out and that person dies forever here? Do we return home I wonder?

[Liquid was wondering if this whole place wasn't just some illusion made up by the gods using their power.]

What if the city itself and everything in it is a illusion?

Yeah, but I think it's just Hope that does it. I um... I don't know what might happen if he runs out of energy, but I don't think we should test it.

[He'd guess it means you just die and don't come back and that's it, game over.]

I've uh... Talked to someone else about that idea before, actually. But I mean, if it is an illusion, there isn't like... A lot we can do about it, at least not right now.

Maybe we could find out where these gods reside? Unless they live upon soft, white fluffy clouds I'm sure we could find their powerhouse as such.

Maybe; I've um, seen Delight in person, but none of the others. You'd think they would be at the Temples though, maybe?

[He tries to stay far away from the Temples, however.]

I dunno if like, seeking them out in person's a great idea right now, though.
